Honestly I understand how hard and scary it would have been for Richie to admit his feelings for Eddie, but if he had told him, his arcade token would have worked bc it’s overcoming his fear of not being accepted so Eddie could have theoretically lived.

This is one of your strongest theories. This and Agent Smith being the true One. This one is so good I've accepted it as cannon and by proxy IT Chapter 2 is a much better movie for it. Well done Matpat.

I think the only other way for Richie to overcome his fear would be to confess to Eddie, which in theory is way easier but Richie only would've realized Eddie was his token and biggest fear either if they had more time or if Eddie died. And they didn't have more time..... This whole entire two movies make SO MUCH more sense after this video-
