No matter what kind of house you have, A mansion made of diamonds or a dirt hut. As long as the crafting table is next to the furnace, its a home

Nothing like remembering playing Minecraft with your siblings who you barely talk to anymore EDIT 03/01/2024 - Due to a lot of your support, I reached out to them. We've been playing again here and there...we even started an indie game studio! Let's hope for the best. I hope the best for all of you too!

You may have advanced in your game, you may have a fully enchanted armor, you may have a house of riches and you may have explored the entire world, but never forget your first tree, your first pickaxe, your first dirt house and your very first night.

How has something connected a whole generation so profoundly that many of us shed tears at this? That’s such a special thing…

growing older has been interesting. as a kid i have memories of looking for minecraft servers with a friend. my friend would always do these giant extravaganza builds while i mostly just dug cave systems, kinda just making these ant like houses for myself underground. years go on and the usual story, life. the long exploring to look for a nice building spot, the beautiful generated terrain all ceased to be for the time being. my friend had built this bio dome which took a month of resource gathering, a lot of which he took the excess cobble i always had. he was good for making these giant over the top bases with lots of resources hoarded within. it was quite the achievement when he managed to get a sheep up there, one day he decides to invite a god damn server vip who was bein real cocky for fighting people. little did my friend know he would cheat and destroy everything with lava. but thats said and done, honestly there were loads of other stuff but one story is enough. so its been roughly 7 years or so since i last really played minecraft. my nephew had a switch so i helped the kid to get minecraft. once we learned we could play together on the switch via 2 player couch play i sat down and got comfy all over again. it took a second but the feelings i had as a kid slowly crept back without me realisin. when i first played minecraft before playing on servers or anything of that sort i would play the free to play minecraft. building my first house, making intricate tunnel systems for no god damn reason, watching the pixelated sunset. it was a rather nice nostalgic moment i had with my nephew, but what shocked me was how much i *didnt* know about the game now. for quick reference last i really played was closer to gravel road villages. so as i dig my usual long ass tunnel trying to find a new mine system, my nephew during his time away with the switch found a random spot and dug straight down in that tunnel. he brings me to this spot and says i should jump down, i tell him to do it first thinking he was just gonna pull a prank on me and to my surprise he actually did it. curiosity got the better of me and i followed him down the hole to plummet straight into water, as i look up i see him emergin for water while some glowing squid gently swim around me. as we both swim for dry land i notice how much different this cobblestone looks, darker and more ashy than normal. is this bedrock? what is all this? where are we kid? so many questions that he didnt have much answers to either which i honestly think that made him happy. just to have us both in shock and awe. i might be getting older, but that was my first time re-discovering minecraft as it was his first time experiencing something that ethereal. good times.

When I was a child, I turned off this music. I still regret it to this day

It hurts because you know you'll never hear these in game ever again.

In case anybody else was curious about what biome/mod is shown, it's one of the moonlight biomes (moonlight grove or moonlight valley specifically) from Terralith!

Nothing like Rembering playing Minecraft and having laughs and smiles with people you don't talk to anymore

I know growing up and realizing you're getting older is strange at best, terrifying at worst, so here's a reminder it'll be okay. you're doing great <3

When i die one day, i want this music played, the memories, the friends, the fun and nostalgia all hit hard of my early days. This music is unimaginably nostalgic and soothing. I can imagine walking away from an xbox and laptop for the last time into the distance, as all the memories and flashbacks kick in. But me, ill never leave this game behind.
