We've talked about a lot of CN and Adult Swim lost media over the past couple years, but let's revisit some of the topics that have yet to be found.

That crossover image of mewtwo and the kanker sisters is so unimaginably funny. needs to be a meme
  • I'd love for you to make an entire video about Lostwave. You've discussed Ulterior Motives before, but there is a HUGE swath of partially found, unidentified songs out there, many of which are being discovered by a diligent community. La Cancion de Alicia, Back to Bed, Waste My Time and Uptown People were ALL discovered in full within the past two weeks.

that Cat News sketch sounds vaguely like those Fried Dynamite bumpers from the same era.

The only thing I can think of that could possibly be the cat news show is a show called Cat 22. Im probably 100% wrong here, but Cat 22 was a cartoon network short aired in between cartoons back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. It was anout a cat who wore a suit, but he was a spy and went undercover around dogs. So it probably wasnt that show.

Thank you for acknowledging my commitment in the finding of one of the KND files, albeit indirectly

Not sure if this would count as lost media, but back in the early 2000's anime such as Tenchi Muyo and Rurouni Kenshin would air on Toonami during the day, albeit heavily censored to match TV-Y7 standards at the time, meaning no swearing, minimal blood, etc. One afternoon I was watching an episode of Rurouni Kenshin, the one where Kenshin and another group are fighting against an army/villain that had gatling guns and they were completely outmatched. Some of the characters were outright dying, which was one thing (characters would also die in Dragon Ball Z), but then suddenly a few of them were saying legitimate swear words such as "damn" or "bastard", and I remember being very surprised by this. It was essentially an uncensored episode! It might not seem as big a deal today, but a cartoon with actual swearing and a TV-Y7 rating airing during daytime Cartoon Network was really unusual back then. In addition, I also recall Rurouni being pulled around a week after that episode had aired, and I always assumed it was due to them accidentally airing an uncensored episode. I could be wrong, but after several decades that one memory has always stuck out to me more than most others from Toonami at the time. I wonder if anyone else remembers this?

All I can remember from something I watched a long time ago was that either a monster, demon, or something not from this world went to an orphanage or hospital with sick children. It looked at the tags with the illness the children had and saw that one had cancer and then said “your name is cancer” but it said it as “sanser”. It might have also said something along the lines of “what a beautiful name”. It then took the child, went somewhere and the child slowly died while the creature didn’t know what was happening. Does anyone else remember or know what this was from? If I had to guess, it might have been on adult swim

"let's put live action on a CARTOON network called Cartoon Network." "Why isn't it working?"
  • @mind-of-neo
I will be on the lookout for all of this to add to my ever-growing collection of random obscure media

I recognise the guy at 34:22 thats Keith Duffy from the Irish boyband Boyzone. He seems to have a jacket with aka cartoon network on it. From what I've seen he was a guest. I wonder if he remembers much about the show it could be worth contacting him maybe?
  • @Karmy.
I'm in that same boat about AKA Cult Toons, found the Vimeo page through RebelTaxi and watched a few but never saved any 😔

Regarding "Lady, Play Your Mandolin", that earlier footage could very likely be pulled from a cartoon that reused that animation. I believe there was at least one Merrie Melodies cartoon that used it, I think "Goopy Geer"?
