  • " we're here to make sure people feel safe" -pans to a shot of the frankston line

    > Makes a documentary about trains in Melbourne > Pakenham line is screwed up Couldn't have asked for a more perfect representation
  • Replacement buses are the fucking WORST during peak hour. Even the phrase “replacement bus” makes me feel ill😆
  • this doco is the closest i have gotten to flinders in literally 7 months, how sad.
  • You haven't really been on the Melbourne Metro if you didn't catch a bus replacement.
  • Thanks for posting this. For someone like me who lives in Melbourne. This video its brings back memories when social distancing and restrictions never existed and life was normal can't wait for these days return
  • Busiest station in the southern hemispehere is a lot different to busiest in the world. As someone who visits flinders street station often its not that bad lol
  • @piploo
The day they filmed the replacement buses on the Cranbourne/Pakenham line I actually lost my job and it was just the kick in the guts I needed that I said screw it and cried on the platform. Honestly kinda funny to see this in retrospect

Man really just said “Melbourne Central Cricket Ground” I’m done
  • They should do a documentary of the Eshays at Melbourne Station
  • As someone who goes to Flinders Street Station often, it’s only as busy as you would expect during peak hour, outside of peak hour it's not busy at all.
  • A car gets hit by a train and this holds up a series of trains and everyone says “bloody railways!”
  • Not sure why this was in my recommended... but as a born and bred Melburnian, and a lifetime user of trains, as well as having met friends under the clocks from 1979 and right up to 2021, I found this really interesting... and reminiscent of many wonderful journeys as well as numerous cancellations, bus replacements, and even meeting people who ultimately became great friends and the odd lover... Melbourne trains ROCK!

My next door neighbour was one of those people who jumped in front of a train. I was actually heading to work at the time, and if I'd taken my normal route, rather than trying to avoid traffic, I would have seen it happen. She didn't make it. The reality is every time someone is struck by a train, there's probably a family who will be missing someone coming home at night. If you feel depressed or suicidal, reach out. Get help. There is someone out there who cares about you. Look up mental health lines, call a family member, a neighbour, a friend, someone, anyone! Just don't make that choice to take your own life. Don't do something permanent that you can't back out of.

Jeez, I was travelling into the city during the first lockdown and I’d never thought I’d see the day Flinders St station empty like it was and it still is as of the date of this comment.
  • In 2020... even though it was COVID-19 times, it was still very busy, thank you to the People who work at Flinders for their dedication for getting people like me and my colleagues through on the trains. Especially during the peak hour and the city loop.
  • 3:01 he's my favourite Rover tbh, very kind, funny and has a smoothing voice. See him almost everyday back when I used to catch pt
