I'm from Malaysia and I expect the worst. But seeing the rating of my country's anthem as 6.5/11 made my day. I always thought it was slow and has a boring tempo on it. Glad that professional artist like you gives an okay verdict. Proof that Negaraku is not as lame as everybody thought it was.

Roomie Canada’s anthem got changed from “all thy sons” to “all of us” btw

The Canadian National anthem was actually changed some years ago, the line "all our sons command" was changed to "all of us command." It took me a bit to get used to, but i think it's a pretty nice change.

“There are a lot of things Germans can’t say.” Part of it is singing the first stanza of the anthem. It’s not forbidden but heavily frowned upon since it says “Germany over everything” which might not be a big deal for other countries’ anthems but after WWII its very unusual to ever sing this part and often in relation to Nazis. though, the third stanza which was played is the official anthem and neither the 1st or 2nd stanza is ever sung (i don’t even know what they say as a german myself oops)

As a french canadian, i find the french version of the anthem to be more melodical and less awkward than the lyrics of the english version The german anthem is the same they used during the 30’s but they usually don’t sing the first stanza witch is about germany being better than every other country, they also don’t sing the second stanza because it is about german beer, sausage and women.
