  • A re-recording in much sharper 480p60fps 4:3 as opposed to 480i30fps in stretched 16:9. The gameplay is also much better.. I was actually ashamed how much I crashed into walls on my previous recording when I looked back at it last week. This game is a lot like F-Zero GX in the sense that each new level leaves you a little overwhelmed and seems impossible at first, but through lots of retries and perfecting your gameplay you get better and better to the point where you beat the stage and move on to the next one. Nonetheless F-Zero is much more difficult as it had me stuck on some stages for over six hours whereas the longest I was stuck on a stage here was just two hours. It's actually a fun game and with the tracks being so short, the graphics being fun, the music being unique in each stage and the gameplay being so engaging, I didn't have much of a problem restarting a single stage many many times. THE ONE thing that bothered me immensely was finding out that being good at the game doesn't seem to necessarily increase your odds of winning. What do I mean by that? Well, I was stuck on Dark Desert for over two hours and I ended up watching my old footage to see how I did it back then. What I saw was some really poor performance and me crashing in walls constantly. I ended up winning the race during my old footage with a total time of 2'58"78 and the second place was 3'00"89. During the new footage, I ended up winning with a total time of 2'38"88..but this time the second place was 2'41"35! In videogame terminology you call this rubberbanding. It's when the CPU's speed is adjusted to your own to keep the race interesting. It's not a bad thing when used properly, but I feel like this game becomes unnecessarily difficult because of it. It's really frustrating doing a race track much more flawlessly and with much better time over your previous recording only to still fail for the track for over two hours. It seems that the only way to win some of these matches is to use a shortcut at the end of the track and hope your opponent doesn't, because the rest of the track he'll be behind you within less of a seconds distance no matter how well you play.
  • "Not just a race, but a special race to see who's the fastest" Every 60 seconds in Africa a minute passes
  • Now this is the real Sonic racing game growing up as a kid. I remember playing this on the PS2 with my friend during before school starts, and we have a good time with it. Those were the good ol days!.
  • One of my favorite racing games ever, I wish they make a remake for it one day.

Ah, the early 2000s on GameCube. Lots of long nights playing this with my friend. Tons of great games at that time, Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Assault, Baulder's Gate, Star Wars Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Jedi Outcast 2, etc.
  • Ah, I remember the good ol’ days of mid 2000’s playing this shit with my older sister, and we STILL love this game, bru.😎👌💖💕✨
  • Great job! This game kicked my ass as a kid, tho considering the controls I'm not ashamed I couldn't do control stick spinning with arrow keys on the keyboard.
  • 10:48 Having a masters degree in aerospace engineering, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the Kutta-Joukowski Theorem is not at all about what Tails said, which is little more than video game technobabble. The Kutta-Joukowski Theorem is used to help describe airflow around an airfoil in a potential flow model. In a nutshell, it states that the velocity of the fluid around the airfoil must point in a direction parallel to the slop of the camberline at the airfoil's trailing edge. This effectively fixes a stagnation point in the fluid at the trailing edge and prevents a phenomena known as flow separation from occurring. This is a very watered-down explanation of what the theorem is and how it's used. There is a ton of literature on this and the complex analysis in which it is often used. But the main point I'm trying to make here is that Tails is talking out of his tails. Nevertheless, this was still one of my favorite video games of all time. Awesome racing mechanics for its time, and hands down better than any mario kart game ever.
  • One of my favorite Sonic games. I hope they make another one in the series.
  • 32:49 Hey, it’s that advanced skateboarding trick known as “Digging Up Atlantis”!
  • Damn that intro always gets me pumped up for me to get this game!
  • I never owned this game but I remember renting it from block buster. Such good times
  • Thanks for keeping it in the original aspect ratio 👍 I loved this game so much as a kid. I remember wanting it after watching an ad on tv and receiving it for Christmas. First Sonic game I completed the story mode for. I still have my original copy but I don’t have a PS2 at the moment.
