These masses are so underrated. For years people used to look down on Haydn's vocal music.

This is one of my most beloved Haydn masses absolutely devine!!

I can't imagine a better recording of this sacred choral jewel with its balance of musical forces and the magic of the recording technicians. Bravo!!!

Used at the end of the landmark series, The World at War in Oradour Sur Glane. Truly moving way to end a series.

What a fantastic, romantic image!

J'ai conduit presque toutes les messes du XVIIIe siècle, mais, si vous me le permettez, celle-ci et la "Neson-Messe" sont les plus belles et les plus remples de la Foi qui conduisait toutes les oeuvres du Maître Joseph Haydn.

Sadly it reminds me of the massacre at Oradour-sur-glane as the World at War “remember” episode played to accompany pictures of the gravestones of the victims.
