We do not know who the greatest conman who ever lived was, or is, simply because he, or she, has never been caught. They are out there somewhere.
  • @silversonic1
The truly dumb thing is that he could have turned to legitimate business and never been caught. Plenty of successful con artists are completely unknown to the world because their dirty deeds were washed away with good business practices.
  • @asmkalrizion7078
this irritates me significantly, not that he managed to legitimately fake it till he made it, but that every step of this process seemed to just be elites trusting elites

So I'm thinking in my head if he had someway to get that tanker of oil to north Korea, then somehow was able to setup mining operations to actually mine all those resources, he could have been the richest man ever starting with absolutely nothing but a lie.

if this guy managed to sell the gold etc, and bought fuel with that, kept the rest and actually kept his promises, this dude would be at the top of the world

Is it Leicester charging Manchester United Β£80 million for Harry Maguire??
  • @exssyonatan
i feel like most of the parts of this story couldve been more detailed, a bank simply β€œgiving” him half their shares based on a promise of wealth doesnt make a whole lot of sense

This is a wonderful planet, and it is being completely destroyed by people who have too much money and power and no empathy.-Alice Walker

I'll never understand with this and similar incidents how so many supposedly professional and sophisticated individuals utterly fail to do proper DD.

You’ve always been one of my favorite YouTubers. Never stop your momentum, dude.

"unsurprisingly, this reckless spending took it's toll and pretty soon Belgravia group's finances were less healthy than a deep fried double battered chocolate dipped sugar coated Twinkie"

The one skill that makes a good con man.... the capability to improvise on the spot under pressure... no shot he saw it all coming. But he definitely nailed the improvising bit lol

Note to self: When perpetrating a crime do not call yourself Lord Voldemort.

It's likely that King had help from powerful people along the way. No one gets around security measures like he did, unless he had the right people turning a blind eye, turning the other cheek, and giving him a hand whenever needed. Wouldn't be surprised if he was put up to it by people who attend Davos each year.

The "being bad is bad, but being really good at being bad is good" is the chemistry behind what makes things cool.

He must have been a hypnotist, because with the way he looked, I wouldn't have trusted him with my sandwich
