Arven is main driver of the story in the generation 9 games, but he asks us for help. In this video I play through the entire game using Arven's team to see if he can take on the titans by himself, become champion, resolve the team star situation, and stop the time machine in area zero. Let's find out!

  • I was gonna have an affiliate link for these games, but since they are still super buggy, here is one for Legends Arceus: howl.me/ciXfjc3yYAN
  • Now comes the true test: Can Arven defeat...Chef Gordon Ramsey in a Sandwich Battle?
  • The fact that each base is named after a main star of the Cassiopeia constellation is such a stroke of genius
  • The teachers didn't want to deal with bullies, so Team Star took it upon themselves to do so...American schools in a nutshell. Giacomo didn't have to go THAT hard with Penny's theme but I'm glad he did. The fact he didn't know who she was yet managed to create the ultimate quiet kid theme is chef's kiss. Another thing with Team Star is that the squad bosses use different Pokéballs that match their personality! Giacomo uses Timer Balls because he's a DJ and timing is key, Ortega uses Luxury Balls because he's from a rich background, Atticus uses Repeat Balls because he's stuck in the past with the way he talks, Mela uses Quick Balls because she's quick-tempered, and Eri uses Heal Balls because she cares the most about protection.
  • Would be funny if there was a "Can You Beat Pokemon Sword/Shield as Penny". Also nice video

The whole AI Sada thing makes sense if you look between the lines. Sada made the AI with her memories and likeness, which is why the AI showed affection towards Arven because the AI knew Sadas true feelings towards her son. However, the real Sada, while obsessed with her work, would not have wanted the region destroyed if things got out of control which is why she made It to where she could deactivate the time machine if she needed to. Thus when Sada died, the AI carried on in her reaserch but eventually realized the danger said reaserch posed to the region. Sada always had that looming possibility in her mind and, thus, that fear transferred to the AI when it was created. So even though its technically a robot with no human emotion, it is logical and knows it cant allow Sada's reaserch to destroy Paldea. The Protocol taking over the AI makes sense because someone other than Sada was attempting to shut down the time machine, which is why all pokeballs aside from those registered to Sada were locked and incapable of working. In the past Game Freak has been really blunt with its story telling but this is very much a "you have to look between the lines" situation. Honestly it's some of the best storytelling I've seen in a Pokemon game.
  • Points need to go to Arven for not only caring for his 'favorite' Pokemon but he kept and worked with the pokemon he picked up to help with the Titans. They weren't just 'oh I will use this just because it has an STAB or Resistance'.
  • I understood the ai professor differently 🤔. I understood that the ai was made to run the time machine; as in it was part of it. The professor copied their mind and after their death the ai (which has a copy of the professors mind) realized how dangerous it all was. The Ai was running off the professors knowledge until the security system activated which was a simple goal(protect time machine) related ai behavior written by the original professor before they saw how dangerous it all was...but that's just how I interpreted it 😅

Excited to see how our beloved sandwich master can become a Pokémon master!!! :D
  • This was really nice, Arven is definitely one of the better characters in Sc/Vi (despite the initial standoffish first impression), and seeing that he has a solid team (which ends up being mostly food based) is really cool to see. Putting in a prediction now, watch Eri become the new Nessa. Penny is definitely the next one I'd like to see. Speaking of, pointing out the constellation naming of team STAR was a nice touch, I actually hadn't heard that yet. Another nice touch is using the new non-inkling human PNG to represent you on screen for a pokemon video where you aren't roleplaying as a 'mon in game.
  • Actually, I love Arven. He's actually a better rival than Nemona, He's charming and supportive, also BRO, and He can cook. My type ^^ and I can really understand his motive and backstory too. It sucks to lose your family (making you an orphan) and almost lose a pokemon you held dear to and risk your life to bring them back to health, that's some Dedication! <3 (this is just my opinion)
  • Before watching, I say yes. Arven remains the only trainer in the game to wipe my whole team. That second battle at the lighthouse really caught me off guard.

The fact that the AI normally not craftable under human technological constraints was built by Sada/Turo makes a lot more sense if you read into the extra lore of the game. Sada/Turo were able to build the AI with the help of subliminal instructions from the third legendary.
  • Canonically Arven & also Penny, have become champions, is in a book in the school library
  • @kidsquid-
ah, the sacred and cursed mud-slap strategy that I used with my sudowoodo to help take out iono’s bellibolt on short notice 😅
  • Arven should've been the Elite four champion, literally the toughest fight I've had after completing all 3 main storylines.
  • still can´t get over the fact how incredibly goofy some animations in this game look... especially the Bombierdier just doing a vinyl record spin on the spot while flying to headbutt the nearest stone wall... it´s just... top quality
  • 20:51 Alright, I don't have a Masters in Computer Engineering like you do, but what? What about the ending made no sense? As far as I know, everyone loved it. AI Sada was powered from the Tera Crystals in Area Zero. If you're talking about how AI Sada was able to stray away from the professor's original view, she could have realized that, without the influence of real Sada's emotions, that her goal was selfish and destructive. Or it could be the terastal crystals giving her her own personality since people theorize Terastalizing represents imagination. Or it could be the fact that she wasn't under the potential influence of the 3rd legendary unlike Professor Sada like some people theorize. Either way, this cannot be worse than Sword and Shield, where the villain literally cannot wait one day and the player character is kept out of the story for 90% of the game.

I think it makes perfect sense for the friendship mechanic to kick in. Arven has a good relationship with all of his Pokémon so it makes sense they'd tough it out for him.
