Oh my gosh! My aunt and uncle got me the Christmas Curious George plush one year for Thanksgiving, who I still have to this day. I had no idea that he had a balloon in the parade. So cute!

Eben Bear was originally Snuggles from the fabric softener commercials and Humpty Dumpty was a redress of the Weeble balloon from the 70's.

I love your videos! The Macy’s thanksgiving day parade is one of my absolute favorite things to watch since childhood! It’s a real treat being able to watch the older ones! :) thanks for the insight and info!

George's Universal sponsor was Vivendi Universal, which is now defunct.

Me interviewing the Rex balloon: How was your only appearance?
Rex balloon: You don’t wanna know.
  • I'm a little surprised that they chose an obscure character like Dudley the dragon to be in the parade. Then again, it's not just the famous characters but also characters they're hoping will be successful.
  • I was born in 1997 and hadn't heard of Dudley until YouTube. Heck, YouTube was also where I discovered Animaniacs.
