Star Citizen has some incredible ships but the one everyone wants to pilot is the great capital ship called the Idris. It's a massive ship that is only accessible through careful planning and a pretty tough heist. Real talk, I actually got help from a wonderful Phontaine_ak from the 7Hills Industries Org. I have to say that Phontaine didn't charge me at all and he's not a pirate, just a really awesome helpful citizen, it was for a bit of role play for the video.

    20:54 my PTSD kicked in at that moment. During the first or 2nd rounds of Xenothreat I was in my Andromeda with a gunner. I got target fixated on a XT Hammer Head and flew between the Idris and Javelin. The timing could not have been worse. I flew right into that Railgun shot that was meant for the Jav. My Connie... instantly Deleted. My gunner was laughing his ass off because he saw it coming and didn't think I'd fly into it.

    funfact the Devastator mass drive cannon of the idris does not fit inside a C2.

    I really want to get AI to man the turrets of our own ships. Don't have anyone to play with, and all of these ships with manned turrets could be so much fun.

    30:00 if the railgun bullet deals say, 100k damage as physical impact, but only 20k as explosive in a radious, then if it hit a ships wing (even a Mustang), the wing will recieve 100k damage, but the rest of the ship (if in radious) only 20k. Since a ship can never critically blow up from just losing a wing, it survives. Yeah its a bit dumb, frankly these kinda weapons should be way higher on the explosive damage, and a wider radious, so it kinda melts any ship part nearby, not just the specific part it hits.

    That railgun can one shot an 890, so whatever that guy was in was either glitched or he was cheating! Enjoyed the video though, I can't wait to get my Idris K in 2055!

    I wonder if you could refuel it at a mining outpost or from a player Starfarer? Edit for more wonderings: I wonder if you could take it to New Babbage and land it on the lake for a ship show? Would the armistice zone disable the turrets so that it wouldn't be constantly firing on other players?

    Cool vid. Seeing it on its landing gear, it jogs a memory of when I first flew across Stanton in an Aurora during an event. They had it parked in the bottom sub-level of whatever event was goin' on at Lorville ages ago. It was the only part of event that my old azz PC would load.

    The only time it's wise to stay in front of the rail gun of an Idris, is when it's targeting is controlled by someone with the accuracy of a standard storm trooper using a blaster. At which point, that's the only safe place to be. Cheers!

    A few patches back, I was stealing these all the time. An Idris v Idris battle is just about the most fun you can have in SC. Fun to one shot Hammerheads from 35+km away! The rail gun shots aren't unlimited but it'll take 2 at least 200 to run dry. I only ever ran out once. So much fun! I might have to take up stealing these again. 😊
