Elden Ring has sold 12 Million copies in less than a month. Which is INSANE! But what's more surprising is how it's done that while defying all the terrible trends of Modern Gaming.

Don’t remember when but miyazaki became the company president of fromsoft after ds1 but still acts as director/producer for basically every souls game. It’s almost like projects turn out better when management actually understand what their team is making and know what they want in the end
  • @theonlyzanny
Ah yes, my work ethic has indeed been equally corrupted by this game
  • @calvin624
The evergaols are optional also, another example of organic difficulty. And FromSoftware made the design decision to spawn your runes outside of the optional fight if you die - meaning you lose nothing by giving these bosses a try.

Easily one of the best games ever made. The level of detail is beyond staggering. The"lands between" seems like a real place. Even how you "learn" spells: it makes sense in the game's universe, and it feels like you personally "know" the spell. This shit is insane. This is the apex of what an open world video game can be.
  • Elden ring feels like a game that came out in a timeline where game developers weren't incompetent and gave their fans what they expect

Fun history fact for everyone mispronouncing Evergaol: Gaol is how the word "Jail" was spelt for centuries up until the early 1800s, when book publishing within the USA became so popular that the American spellings of English words started to take over as the accustomed way to write these words. In Elden Ring, when you are doing a Evergaol bossfight, you are fighting a prisoner sentenced for eternity.

Over a year later and I'm still enjoying the HELL out of this game. I'm afraid we'll never get a game this great in our lifetimes again

The key to a sucessful game is a FINISHED GAME. Not an early access game with constant updates.
  • @ItsCrispy73
A huge open world with amazing content with no microtransactions and is actually playable on release? Beautiful.
  • @Dudeman9339
I'm surprised you didnt mention the flasks refilling when finishing a group of enemies out in the overworld... allowing you to truly explore and follow your fancy without worrying if you're stocked up on flasks.

It's a totally approachable game. It's punishingly hard yes but the open world lets you reduce the difficulty as much as you want. They made something amazing that I can't stop playing and I've hated souls games for years and years. This thing is fantastic.

This video honestly sold me on Elden Ring. Wasn’t feeling it before for some reason but now I’m totally hyped to pick it up. Thanks Act Dude Savior Dude

0:39 , the ActMan made a character so bizarrely looking that the tree sentinel had to take a sec to make sure that what's he is seeing is real
  • @beetheimmortal
The fact that this game, while being heavily single-player focused is STILL pulling in 700-800k players over 3 weeks after release constantly on Steam alone is really telling.
  • @AndreiJoji
This game is a very rare occurence in this industry and i'm so glad that i was able to experience it.

18:00 I still remember on my first playthrough of Eldin Ring. I was like "fuck I can't beat Stormveil Castle and I wanted to see what's in the North area so much" and then I accidentally discovered the hidden path to the Liurnia of the Lakes area The immense joy and surprise I had lol
  • @serbianhammer
When you play Elden Ring you can see the passion, soul and effort they put in. They took everything they learned from previous titles and expanded on it. All for the same price as the previous games. Meanwhile EA did the complete opposite with Battlefield 2042, charged up to $120, and didn't even have a scoreboard on release. Fromsoft is still making mostly finished games.
  • @jennyneon
The game DESERVES to be successful. This game is the best game weʼve seen in a while.
  • @shabr1ri
Favorite parts of this game include every time I’ve just sat back, and taken in the Lands Between. Something so cathartic about a game that finally hits the mark, where you can rack up 100 hours and still think, “God damn this is amazing.”
