LYRICS

Welcome, won’t you come inside
Meet the ghosts where I reside
Despite how they’re abusing me
Lonely I will never be
Comfort in the hell I know
Resentment like a cancer grows
Longing for the day I’m free
Burn to get you out of me

Lying, supplying the need
Shedding and spreading the seed
Setting the trap with a thread
Spinning the web

Misery
She needs me
Oh, but I need her more

Misery
She loves me
Oh, but I love her more

Misery
She kills me
Oh, but I end this war

Misery
She fills me
Oh no, but she’s not what I’m
living for

Ricochets within my head
Conversations never said
Magnifying every thought
That familiar pain she brought
Seeps inside eventually
Misery loves company
Sullen, I created you
I suppose that I can end you too

She waits
She waits, she waits, she waits

She waits
She waits, she waits, she waits

Misery
She needs me
Oh, but I need her more

Misery
She loves me
Oh, but I love her more

Misery
She kills me
Oooh, but I end this war

Misery
She fills me
Oh no, but she’s not what I’m
living for
Oh no

Oooh, misery

She needs me
But I need her more
She loves me
But I love her more
She kills me, she kills me
But I end this war
She fills me, she fills me
But she’s not what I’m living for

Oh no, oh no
No, no, no, no, no, no
Not why I’m living

Misery
She needs me
Oh, but I need her more

Misery
She loves me
Oh, but I love her more

Misery
She kills me
Oh, but I end this war

Misery
She fills me
Oh no, but she’s not what I’m
living for

Misery, my misery

Misery, my misery

Misery
She’s not why I’m living
My misery
She’s not why I’m living
Misery
She’s not what I’m living for
My misery

No no

This album is definitely a grower. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. Great work guys !
  • To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. may peace and calmness fill your life.
  • I was in Japan when this album came out. I had it played on shuffle while I was on a bus. As soon as it passed Mt. Fuji, this song began to play. Now, when I hear the intro to the song, I picture that massive, snow-capped mountain that I was completely dwarfed by before my eyes. It was epically beautiful.

Fun fact: Hardwired ended with a "Yeah!" while 72 Seasons ended with a "No!".
  • Please, let it be the best video from this album... because this track deserves for it
  • @SuperThales99
Seriously this is one the best songs ever written by James... the lyrics, the melody and the harmony part is so good. I always feel amazing when i listen to this song.

Maybe it is just me, but I could listen this masterpiece on repeat all day without getting tired of it. Just perfection!!

The melodic/harmonic part between James and Kirk is life-changing!
  • @sven4624
No doubt, the best song of the album. You can feel the pain in James his voice in the song after he divorced with Francesca last year. Great love song and no doubt the best Metallica song of the 21st century. 🤘🏻

There is no more doubt. This guy's are f.cking legends... They'll be remembered even 500 years from now.
  • @Snicker60515
11 minutes and it only feels like 5, what a great track this is. Long live Metallica!
  • Riffs, rithm, lyrics, solos, highs and melodies. Everything perfect. One of their best songs ever. Pure passion. They're back
  • @lostz2754
This album should've won the Grammy for best rock album. They should've performed too.
  • The last solo really tears me apart. Perfect ending for a huge album. Somehow I feel this is the very end of a long beautiful journey. Thank you Metallica for 40 years of incredible music ❤
  • @AeonGreyh
Favorite song of the album, hope it gets the music video it deserves 🤘🏻
  • @jacklamborn8810
The part from Rob's beautiful bass solo to the next chorus is honestly one of the best moments in any song
  • @serkantrfc
This song is my new ADDICTION...a real addiction that keeps rolling in my head all the day ...I do love this
  • @deyyvv
This song helped me through breakup. James, Lars, Kirk, Rob - thank you so much for this one ❤🤘
