Seriously, that was THE performance of that show. I remember multiple people who weren’t into punk at all saying that, wow, these Sum guys are really WAY above anyone else. Saw your entire 9-minute performance of MoP the other day, too, what a killer! In some of your further videos, can you talk about your metal influences and how it affected your drumming style?

Yes Stevo boy. Brownsound nailing that puppets solo out of nowhere is a core memory unlocked!
  • When you left Sum41 i was so sad... I searched the internet for years to have information about what you were doing and i found that you became a real estate agent...Now i am so glad that you are back on the scenes! Thank you Stevo!!!

  • @punkermd73
This is like the bestest channel going right now, it's awesome to see you so freaking happy just doing what you love and bringing back all these memories. Until the next video!
  • @vinidgr
I love the fact that he played the EXACT SAME way he did 20 years ago. You can see when the small video is showing him and compare, that is 100% accurate

this blew all of our minds because we were soo into metal and sum41, the crossover we needed at that moment in time

The pressure and surreal feeling, performing Metallica songs in front of Metallica. I can feel my guts twisting up from just imagining it.

I’ve been loving these uploads dude. You’re delightful.

My band was in talks with Island not long before this and I remember some reps telling us stories about you guys. One about how you told the Island Canada guy he sucked to his face for signing Hanson and then another where you showed up late to some important industry dinner in full tactical gear and super soakers and just had a water gun battle in this fancy restaurant. I loved how unapologetically young and punk rock you were. Our band was a bit more serious musically so we could never really do anything like that. I was jealous of that free spirit you guys had. Love seeing you on here. I loved how you never hid your metal roots despite being labeled pretty distinctly as a pop-punk band.

I loved that Metallica Icon. MTV had some great events like that back in the day. RIP.

I loved this medley. I looked at sum41 different after this. This is the year I saw Metallica at skydome for my high school grad present.
  • @paulogorris18
nice to see you found the exact size of when you were 12.
  • Sum 41 has always been one of my favorite bands and I still talk about this performance to this day.

I watched the video not so long ago and had goosebumps! The band energy, Deryck's voice, the crowd, what a fkin performance! We skumfuks are very privileged that you started this channel. Thanks so much for sharing Sum 41 anecdotes. This really is priceless.
