This tool could seriously injure you, but at least you will have saved some money...

Not that I am tight or mean with money, I'm just careful, which isn't the same thing. I have two other cars to run and, currently, three motorbikes as well as the Vitesse Special that I am currently building. Therefore, If I can come up with a solution for getting around a problem, or make a piece of tooling to help with a particular task then I will.
So, this morning, I woke up with the idea of making a Coil Spring Compressor from borrowed parts out of my Powder Coating oven and some wood out of the "Fire Wood Bin".
A wooden tool when they are usually made from steel. I could have bought one for about £60 but I would have only used it once and it would have sat on the shelf taking up space in my small workshop.

I went to ebay and bought a set. Love your work 👍
  • When you were tightening the nuts on the top of the long threaded rods, why didn't you just lay the thing on it's side, put a wrench on the nut and use a ratchet on the double nutted end of the rods?
