Not that I am tight or mean with money, I'm just careful, which isn't the same thing. I have two other cars to run and, currently, three motorbikes as well as the Vitesse Special that I am currently building. Therefore, If I can come up with a solution for getting around a problem, or make a piece of tooling to help with a particular task then I will.
So, this morning, I woke up with the idea of making a Coil Spring Compressor from borrowed parts out of my Powder Coating oven and some wood out of the "Fire Wood Bin".
A wooden tool when they are usually made from steel. I could have bought one for about £60 but I would have only used it once and it would have sat on the shelf taking up space in my small workshop.

    When you were tightening the nuts on the top of the long threaded rods, why didn't you just lay the thing on it's side, put a wrench on the nut and use a ratchet on the double nutted end of the rods?
