The Walt Disney Company has unveiled a slightly different logo to their streaming service Disney Plus to celebrate their combination with Hulu. With Disney Plus ditching their iconic blues, do the new colors look better than the original ones?

It looks OK I guess but, it basically represents Modern Disney.

Bro it's just a color change bro. Disney+ is still the same.

As a professional graphic designer, I can say a few things and show more context: Disney+ originally consisted of family-friendly content and their biggest franchises, so they connected these content types to the main Disney's "magic" brand; thus, the Disney+ brand identity used to reflect that "magic" brand, with the blue color, the fairy's curve etc. However, the Americas' platform is also getting Hulu's content now, known to being more mature and not family-friendly. So the new visual identity shows exactly the shift Disney+ is becoming an even more generalist brand (as well as Netflix, Max and Prime Video); and the idea they got was literally mixing the original Disney+' blue and Hulu's green into a new teal color. But, if it was a good idea or not, it's another thing.
  • 2023: Max (formally as HBO Max): changing from purple to blue color 2024: Disney +: changing from dark blue to teal blue color

While I like the teal look, they could’ve still had the white slowly fade in the background

The logo looks so bland, this doesn’t represent the company’s “magical” brand that Disney basically is.
  • @ubahni
holy shit they changed the color this is literally unusuable!!!!

The teal relative to the blue makes the new logo look sickly.

Disney+ logo: exists and has at least some personality Disney: let's change it for no reason and make everybody mad!
  • As a graphic design student, in fact it is a move that benefits Disney, in the career they teach you that you must create a logo that works on different types of backgrounds, you must have a colored logo (if it has it), a white and black ver. and another in grayscale (when they are prints), the weird thing is that they preferred to use a totally white one than the one that represents them

they really changed the color of a gradient and people are getting mad 💀
  • This dude will make a video on literally anything that happens to squeeze some cash out of it. They changed their app icon and you make a 2 minute video on it? 😭😭
  • OH WOW! THEY INVENTED ANOTHER COLOR! "GO AWAY BLUE!" Seriously though, this honestly wants to look like Prime.
  • @arhester
At least its still the same logo, just different colors

There may not even be a Disney+ with the bundle with Hulu. The thing is when the two streaming services eventually merge. Is it gonna be Disney+ on Hulu or Hulu on Disney+? They have to keep only one of the names.

I remember reading an article about George Lucas and Steven Spielberg of how they predict streaming services in the 90s with made for home movies etc. Now we're living in this reality. (And Netflix came around in 1997)
