Yes, "The Office" was created by Ricky Gervais. The American version is not the original.

I love him. He doesn’t give a single F. He was raised in a home where coping meant using black humor. He’s the king of it. More, please. Jane is his girlfriend.

He can be a lot more brutal (and funny) than this video selection shows. The 2020 Golden Globes was awesome.
  • Yes he did create The Office, the UK and US versions. He is so ‘f’ing funny. Jane is his partner of 40 years. Plus he and Jane are both very lovely people who do a lot for animal rights and protections.

Pull up his entire speech roasting Hollywood Golden globes, basically calling them out

Ricky gervaise is the absolute king of dark humor. Icon!!!
  • You guys want savage Gervais then watch any of his stand up specials. He's definitely my favourite comedian for a reason

Ricki is a savage. He will never ever say what you want to hear, he’ll only say what’s on his mind. He’s ver intelligent, unapologetic and unaffected by others reaction to him. And a HUGE animal lover! Anyone that truly loves animals can’t be a bad person.
  • The British have the most savage sense of humour their sense of humour literally consists of insulting each other 😂
  • Great fun, guys. And as for Ricky - he is absolutely awesome. I watch the entire double series of The Office, (and Christmas specials) back-to-back, at least once a year. Sooo funny.

Y'all missed his greatest work. Just check his 2020 golden globes roasts

Ricky and a man named Stephen Merchant created the original office. It was groundbreaking at the time and is the reason so many shows are set up as documentaries now. Ricky actually worked in an office til he was 40 and that’s where he got the character of David Brent (who is not nearly as redeemable as Michael Scott). One of my favorite stories he told was that he or someone he knew was on public transport after the show premiered and overheard two ladies talking about it. The first woman thought it was all real (because, again, they pretty much started the whole sitcom as a documentary). She was telling her friend how funny it was and how ridiculous it must be to work at that office. Her friend explained that it was a scripted sitcom and the first woman was very disappointed saying, “Oh. Well, it’s not funny at all then.” Part of why Ricky does not care about Hollywood etiquette is that he was a normal working guy until his 40s. Now he’s obscenely wealthy and advocates for animal rights while trolling celebrities. He’s great.
  • His whole speech from the Oscar’s was hilarious!!!!!!! ☠️☠️☠️🥶😆

Ricky is awesome. Him and Bill Burr my faves. Removing PC thoughts one comedy show at a time. Love it

Brandon always has the right answers. Gotta love a smart man.
  • @kasraew
brandon always looks like he lost a bet to be sitting with you folks and reacting to stuff
  • @ThunderUp65
"Do it like you were clever enough to come up with this joke yourself" You man glossed over that one
  • Context: You see Ricky going up against Steve Carell so much because Ricky wrote and starred in "The Office". As in, the original "Michael Scott" (David Brent) in the original show in England. It launched his career and they remade it for America (as well as other countries) and of course cast Steve as the American version of him. So all the "Give me your Emmy" and "Ricky can't be here tonight so Steve will accept his award..." stuff is joking about how much more successful & loved Steve Carrell is than him for playing his own character.
  • Do more! He’s freaking brilliant. He roasted the crap out of the Hollywood elites right to their faces with zero f’s given and it’s glorious.
