This video will show how to lower the noise on the output of the Kaiweets PS-3010 DF 30V 10A Power Supply. This Kaiweets Power Supply is a low cost power supply with 0-30 V range and up to 10 Amps output. It is a switcher so does have some noise, so we will add some filtering to improve this.

It really shows Eddie has been working with power. He recognized the problem and the fix straight away!
  • This channel Number one instrument review and learning channel on YouTube 💞
  • I just got one on Amazon prime for $76 plus tax. Great deal, thx for the videos.
  • I wish I understood this video better, but I guess that's what learning is all about 😅 I'm subscribing!

Now you're talking! Nice job with the noise, but I'll like to see the second video improving it even more! Thanks again for your ideos!
  • Good video, i like ! I think we need to send some funds to help you get a bigger bench & stronger :) Good work Eddie !

It would be great to see a side by side comparison of several budget switching power supplies to see what is best out of the box.

Back in high school, I think I attempted this kinda mod on every bench supply I owned. They were all linear, most of them were boat anchors and way less (HF) noisy than comparable supplies today...you know, mostly just 60/120Hz ripple artifacts sneaking through and visible when the scope was zoomed way into the noise floor. For whatever reason, I thought the outputs all needed to be cleaned up. I think I only managed to make them worse. "Uhhh. What's a common-mode? The coil goes after the cap, right? Uhhhh" I need to open one up someday and see exactly what I did. Surely it'll be worthy of a spot in the marvelous museum of kludgy blunders.
  • Hi Eddie, thank you sooo much for another Amazing Video and Great Tutoring.
  • This was wonderful, I've waited patiently for this over the last few months and it was well worth the wait! Thank you, I'll perform the modification. This will help in my beginner electronic endeavors. I'll keep an eye out for future mods and vids. Love watching your stuff... sincerely a beginner electronic enthusiast ;)
  • Really enjoyed the detail in what you were doing. I'm not quite ready (experience wise) to do this to my Kaiweets, but I plan to refer back to this video when I am. I followed along scoping my ps and learned some things. Thanks!
  • I gonna get one and do the same modification. You are the master, thank you!
  • 7:25 and 12:40 perfectly cut to the screen, this make it simple and clear, instead of i.e. a zoom-out with everything in one frame. Here is maybe a way you can think of it, you are showing exactly what your brain is doing, holding the probes while looking at the scope, you are not looking at both but do sometimes make your eyes switch back to make sure the connections is still ok. To make a perfect cut, like you did, do you have to simulate what the human brain does. I.e. a person tells you he has got new shoos, you will then look at his shoos, your brain has automatically cut out your eyes panning, tilting, zooming and focusing down to his shoes For you will it seem like you have made a "cut" from his face to his shoes. :-)

Thanks for great video. I've got this one and had to get more amps one that could drive DC motors that require 22 amps to start.
  • I think Kaiweets should hire you to design their power supplies. Probably would be great right out of the box. Then again they are pretty good for the price. It isn't like you spent Rohde & Schwarz money. Hey wanted to mention another youtuber I watch named the Imsai guy mentioned you and said he liked your channel.
