Also they should incoperate that pub somehow into their plans its legendary
  • The stadium needs further expanding but also the whole area needs redeveloping as there no point having a great stadium in the middle of a run down area.

From engineering perspective, those boarded-up houses may need to go for KOP expansion alone (and the closed businesses along and, sadly but likely the Church and more). Because if the road behind the KOP is still where it is now, no expansion is happening. My educated guess is that the very first phase will be road relocation starting from the end of the boarded houses, passing through what is now the back of the Church and re-joining the old route about the place where you started the video. Only then there is capacity to expand and space to do the work on it.
  • Thank you KC. You, Mr Drone and Greybeard are consistently brilliant. I still don't mind Liverpool giving the Mighty Palace a thrashing : ) Best wishes

I just think the plan is to knock all those boarded up properties down, a roundabout will go where that boarded up row of houses are which will then allow for the road to be re directed slightly to create space behind the kop on the side that's obviously needing it the most. Once that's done they will have space to do exactly the same as last two stands build the extension behind it first and the roof then close season they do the rest like making some of the kop steeper. I say some because they can't go straight from the bottom steep or it would block sight of the seating in the corner of main stand.
  • Hi KC, great to hear another view point of the Kop expansion "hopefully" in the future ! rather than repeat all the info I put on Grey Beards channel about the same subject re Kop expansion !****** Have a glance at it KC*******, it gained some interesting reply's also, some saying bang on target !!! Hadn't seen before the main stand picture before and after development !!, a little suspect because the road now is very busy , flanking it with a football park come shopping facility seems a bit odd, but who knows ....
  • @laddo
So much of this is incorrect. The proposed plan image you show at the beginning is from a scheme that was cancelled over 5 years ago. The club shop was initially to be underneath the Main Stand (where the players now park their cards). The new scheme for Walton Breck Road is far scaled down and plans were publicly available last month. There are absolutely no plans to expand the Kop and any claims that there are is utterly misguided.

For all that "regen" the area south of Anfield ie behind the Kop is jawdroppingly grim right now. That's what happens when u leave the place to Joe Anderson and co.
  • @JayEFC1969
I think Everton moving from Goodison has weakened the business case for using the Canada Dock Branch line for passengers which could've served both the old Spellow Station as well as Anfield.
  • that location should be a world class site to visit, the road can be altered where the houses are, and churches can be bought and knocked down. its not a a listed building
  • @Chris-dz8sy
I think they will eventually redirect the road to allow for the expansion. Buying the houses will make the road change much easier.
  • @RS-xx9ve
4:15 Wow those houses are new and look like they are deteriorating already. One of em even has a patched up roof already. They look and are completely unsuitable for that area. Far worse infact than what was there before. All thanks to Joe Anderson and mates. De generation not re-generation.

Another great video Kev, your channel, you're famous now lad 😂😂
  • Looks like a lot of dereliction around there. You would think that Liverpool Council would say we will knock the lot down and let the club expand the Kop and the Sir Kenny stand and build a train station there. It would benefit the city as a whole and would also improve the lives of the people in the homes around there that are left.
  • @sjmacca7499
mad logic thinking those houses would gt in the way of the stands lad. nuts
  • @MultiDavid182
Great video as always 👍🏼 with regards to the Kop expansion with the space an Walton Breck Road they could take it out over the road have a tunnel like at villa park where the stand goes over the road with out disruptions or re-routing it but this is only my opinion, also what do the residents say about it all cause they weren’t happy when the main stand was being done that could be another problem with the expansion the club needs to keep them happy as well
  • @tonysebo9010
I'd like to see them build an enormous Kop, but they need to future proof against restrictions, should they redevelop the SKD any time. The massive pillars at the Anfield Rd end shows just how much extra capacity has been lost from three corners. One of the features of the old standing kop was just how wide it was, wrapping around to meet the main stand and the old Kemlyn. I also think that LFC have missed a trick in not factoring in good natural light to the backs of the stands. again, the old Kop looked superb, largely because it was always well lit, so you could always see all of it.
  • Just guessing but walton beck road is so busy I would think the first step is to construct re routing that road In the end it still goes past the new Kop stand but in a different path taken Those houses in the video being demolished along with the church and the two pubs Would give an opportunity to build such road that can always be in place and active during the Kop expansion and onwards I actually think if they did get the go ahead to go bigger , expended and possibly wider , the club shop then gets in the way of a bigger stand. The Kop and its list of issues needed to happen first actually is the most straight forward stand to do Re home church and two pubs Re route the main round around the outer limit of a new stand
