The Butchers nails are known as a horrific rage inducing torture device, however they are actually incredibly sophisticated and misunderstood

*Edit - Lore correction, as of the latest World Eater Codex, the World Eaters are still implanting the nails into new recruits so bit of a mistake on my part. Guess im a bit dusty from my time away Survived the Holiday - thought making a video about brain nails would be appropriate considering how cooked my brain feels Good to be back, lets start slamming the lore
  • Angron : has a wholesome ability, relieving people of pain and trauma Universe : no

Angron could have been a top-tier primarch. It’s truly tragic what was robbed from him...
  • @planetbob6703
Angron without the nails: "No, Vulkan! That unarmed child has surrendered!"
  • @kellerblair2952
Angron was supposed to be a Cleric but they forced spec him as a barbarian.

I love how some escaped World Eaters discovered meditative techniques to counter the Butcher's Nails and avoid Khorne, yet almost every other Chaos Space Marine didn't even have enough willpower to say "yeah nah maybe not" before agreeing to getting brainblasted by all the other Chaos gods. Like all those Marines had turbo brain damage and yet they still saw how stupid the idea of joining Chaos is

Just waiting for the video about how each of the pre heresy priamrchs would have reacted to being in guillimans situation of waking up go the current 40k setting and ruling , can't wait.

You know, if you also consider the theory that the Primarchs' origin planets were not random but selected by their warp god soul, it makes Angron's tragedy even more cruel. It would imply that his god was drawn to this planet perhaps in a desire to soothe the suffering of a majority of its inhabitants, in accordance with Angron's empath abilities. Another way compassion is severely punished in the 40k universe.

The fact that the Nails reduced World Eaters from a proud Legion with a code of honour and a sense of brotherhood to a mob of crazed, murderous thugs is a testament to their deteriorating power. Even Khârn went from the most level-headed and reasonable World Eater to a bloodthirsty berserker because of Angron's "gift" Also, my theory is that Khorne played some role in the Nails' creation. The fact that the presence of a psyker causes immense pain to all warriors implanted with Butcher's Nails, combined with their effect of giving momentary pleasure from slaughter is just too much of a coincidence. Perhaps Khorne influenced the DAoT engineers to prepare the Nails for his Champion, in a similar way how Tzeentch created the Planet of Sorcerers for Thousand Sons.

6:46 And when the Horus Heresy broke out, many World Eater Loyalists chose to remain true to the Imperium and fought and fell in battle against the Traitor Legions.
  • @TheWarmachine375
Eldar really screwed up Angron by ambushing him and weakened him enough to get captured and enslaved by the Nucerian high riders. All because they tried to prevent Angron from becoming Khorne's champion and committed Self-Fulfilled Prophecy as a result.
  • @Sneaker3719
That last bit about the nails not being common anymore is wrong. The latest World Eaters codex states that every Khorne Berzerker is given them by the Berzerker-Surgeons of the legion.
  • @just_some_guy32
I love the world eaters they're tragic fall because of angrons ever increasing insanity is such a great story in my opinion
  • @mintyaroma987
The last bit of the video is wrong - the WE 9th edition codex mentions that Butcher Surgeons often put the nails into Astartes joining the WE Legion, and the Angron book released at the same time actually has a scene of one of the main characters getting the nails implanted towards the end

Betrayer is such a good book. I could totally see Angron being the "friendship" primarch, due to his presumed empathic / healing powers and the desire of his sons to relate to their father. One thing to add to the tragedy - the world eaters had a very stable gene seed (as did the word bearers). With strong numbers and strategems that might have focused on preserving marine life they could have been as large and successful as the ultra-marines.
  • @monkeyorful
As an spanish, I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoyed much spanish people. To be fair you traveled to the most touristic places in Spain were people hate tourist for how much of them there are. If you give another chance to different places in Spain I hope it goes better.
  • @adambman2
I wonder how Angron's ability would've interacted with those of Sanguinius and the Blood Angels, and if maybe big E intended interactions like that
  • I would love to see angron regenerate in khornes realm without the nails and become who he was meant to be. And be rejected back into real space and return to fold of the imperium.

Do a video on the chief librarian from each legion.
