Lincoln Center's Blue Light Tribute for 9/11 as the Met Reopens With Verdi's Requiem

Lincoln Center joins other New York City buildings and is lit in sky blue, participating in the `Tribute in Light’ commemoration of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, on the night that the Met Orchestra and Chorus performed Verdi's Requiem and reopen the Opera House after 18 months of darkness.

`Tribute in Light’ is a public art installation first presented six months after 9/11 and then every year thereafter, from dusk to dawn, on the night of September 11, with blue lights that are projected upwards echoing the shape and orientation of the Twin Towers, that can be viewed from a 60-mile radius around lower Manhattan.
