  • Fellow YT realtor and member of Channel Junkies FB group. My parents live in North Port and I fly into the Punta Gorda airport from Nashville several times a year. I'm from Asheville NC and used to fly out of Asheville airport as well. I go to fishermans village pretty much every time I go down there. This is a very well done video! Great job!
  • Easy access to the beach alone makes Punta Gorda and North Port great locations!
  • loved this video ..thanks so much for the incite ..gotta go soon!!๐Ÿ˜Ž

Punta Gorda is a nice mixture of old and new. It is easier to get around by bike and especially with a electric bike on bike paths that link the city. There is a cool breeze coming off the water. The sunset views are phenomenal!

  • I call it "Poonta". Also, maybe it's just my TV, but does it look like he shaved just half his mustache๐Ÿ˜ฎ? Really love this content. I've lived in SWFL only since 2017 and this guy is spot on 100%.

Hi Craig, Thanks for these great videos. My wife and will be at RV parks in Punta Gorda FL later this year. We will be exploring the Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and NW Cape Coral area for a retirement home. We will be moving south from cold N.J. I would like to see if you can help us find a place.
  • @TheNauticaDiver
Another great informative vide Craig, Thanks!!. Great to see Syracuse is on the flight list.
  • Would love to see a deeper dive on Port Charlotte. We will be looking at both Lee and Charlotte counties when the time comes.

The Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte area has a large number of restaurant/bars that can cater to most anyone's taste in food and also from very low priced to moderately high. A lot of them have outdoor seating in in a few places indoor, outdoor and on the roof seating. In Punta Gorda there is a height restriction on buildings so there will be no sky scrapers going up here. The airport is paving a new parking area right now so that will help there. The life style is very laid back and casual. There is a beach in Port Charlotte, 4500 Harbor Blvd, which isn't far from the Tamiami Trail South bridge. Punta Gorda itself does not have a beach although some sunbathe or wade int he water at Ponce De Leon Park. The demographics as far as age does bother some people as more than 50% are over 55 but most seniors in this area are quite active. There are also quite a high number of retired military here, enough that we have a military heritage museum and a scaled down but still completely accurate copy of the Vietnam Wall in our Veterans Park. Port Charlotte, North Port, Englewood all tend to attract the younger crowd. I've lived in Punta Gorda now for 6 years and love it, the people are friendly and nowhere near the crime from where I used to live. June to November can be very hot and very humid in the evenings and at night. More just hot during the day. I chose to get dark film for the back and backseat windows of my car and heat reflective film on the front windows of my car soon after I moved here and it makes a very great difference even in the height of summer. It still gets hot in the car but not burn your backside and can't breathe hot as it did even up north in the summer. They spray for mosquitoes (both aerial and by truck) so they are not a major problem here. I haven't had a mosquito bite in the years I have been here. We are also only about 30 minutes from Ft Myers and 50 minutes from Sarasota so if you want big name entertainment or night life it isn't that far away to get to. Ft Myers airport is only about 25 minutes down I-75. Personally I love the area but it is very slow paced here and that isn't for everyone.

The best thing I did was leave this city its nothing to do boring, I live in Hallandale Beach which is next Miami and Hollywood Beach the night life is amazing and its always some were to go and enjoy yourself.

It's beautiful in PG. We moved here from North 5 years ago. DEF growing fast around us
  • We are in Punta Gorda as medical travelers and love it here! We are lodging in Historic downtown, two blocks from the water. Love the running biking trail along the water, the tiki bar, and Fishermans Village. We recently took a day trip to Fort Myers though - Coconut Point Mall, and Sanibel Island - and loved the look and feel of Fort Myers. We are considering a travel assignment there next. Ultimately, we are looking to make our home in SW Florida. That said, are there any areas to live in Fort Myers that are like Punta Gorda?
