Factorsynth trick #1: selective reverb

Factorsynth (www.jjburred.com/) is a MaxForLive device that uses machine learning methods to decompose audio clips into a series of elements (notes, noises, impulses...).

One of the many things you can do with this new kind of sound decomposition engine is to apply reverb, or any other audio effect for that matter, only to certain elements of the clip, while leaving the rest of the clip unprocessed. This short video tutorial shows how.

    That's cool but, why not just add basic effects to the device? Reverb, delay, distortion.
