Video games have long included product placement, but some are FAR worse than others. Whether it's Uncharted's Nathan Drake shilling for Subway, a Mercedes Benz in Mario Kart 8, or Hideo Kojima's impressive commitment to force as many products into Metal Gear Solid as possible, by showcasing these bad ads, we're probably making the problem worse to be honest.

  • Can't quite put my finger on why but I really want a Dr Pepper right now.
  • @TheGr1IsHere
Fru-eat... fru.. ite... am i saying that right, had me cracking up.
  • Can't believe you're taking Pikmin to task over what is easily the best use of advertising in a game ever.

Loved the list, I had honestly forgotten about Natey Drakes trying to sell us sandwiches but it's coming back to me. Anyone else remember the actual storefront they put in Infamous 2's open world? I mainly remember because of all the fun people had with that particular spot in the mission creator. Also... am I the only one that misses Infamous?

The billboards in 2142 changed all the time, that was kind of cool back then. Still, Titan Mode is hands down the BEST GAME MODE EVER DESIGNED and should be brought back into a modern Battlefield game, ASAP.
  • @belhariry
Surprised you mentioned the Atari Coke game and not Pepsiman, the PS1 game that was released in Japan only, I think.
  • @stevolution7833
Surprised there was no mention of Crazy Taxi, with all the product-placement twxi destinations included in the original release.
  • @senor.molina
I was waiting on the Cup Noodles of FFXV, to be honest, that's so bad that is good

Your videos are of such high quality 👌 Coming from a biased long term fan 🙂 Keep it up guys

Unironically, I actually use Novolin N to treat my diabetes, making that my favorite product. It's a cheaper alternative to Novo Nordisk's name brand long lasting insulin, Lantus Solostar. So if you live in the U.S. and are currently struggling to pay the insane price for your insulin, ask your doctor about Novolin (also look into Novocare to get a discount on Novolog). On a serious note, the video was great. Was this edited by one of the new people? If so, they did a great job, the comedy was on brand for you guys. If it was one of you two that edited it, then of course it was great lol

Slurp Delicious. Damn I love Triple Jump!! :-D
  • 'Ghostbusters - The Video Game' (2009). They obviously had a deal with Doritos. I don't know about the consoles. But there are In-Your-Face Doritos vending machines and billboards all over the PC-game. The game itself is actually very good.

Nintendo: Uses product placement in Pikmin 2 and no one complains Movies: Use product placement and everyone complains
  • @The_Chef2511
The worst example of product placement was in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It's buried in the tapes you can listen to and involves Code Talker and Kaz. During the time Kaz offers to make Code Talker a burger and you find out he had secretly been diverting portions of the R&D team into working on food. Why is that strange? Well the final burger was one that stored well while still tasting good. The implication was that hater of fiddles Kazuhira Miller was behind the founding of McDonalds.
  • "Remember Snake! It is very important that you consume plenty of Cheetos and Coca-Cola daily if you are to survive in the jungle! Press the action button next to these delicious treats in order to consume and enjoy their delightfulness... Also remember to enjoy yourself in the new Jacuzzi" Me: Something about these newer Metal Gear games just makes it feel less realistic
  • I remember long before the movie came out, I saw movie posters for Book of Eli in Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
  • @d2factotum
How about the game Mercenary: Escape from Targ back in 1985? One of the missions had you retrieving an "Essential 12939 supply". Because the graphics were all transparent 3D, if you walked round the other side of the box containing the supplies you could see that it actually read "PEPSI" backwards! (RIP Paul Woakes...).
