So Nimona has now become my favorite movie for a lot of reasons, one of the biggest having to do with how much I relate to Nimona as a character and the movie as a whole, and sympathize with them. This movie made me cry so hard in my first viewing because of how much I felt for Nimona and somewhat related to them, and I figured a song about this movie would be a great outlet. Recently I've been dealing with a lot of social struggles like feeling outcasted, abandoned and brushed off by people I thought I could trust, people suddenly believing lies or one-sided stories about me and leaving me behind, abandoned, or out to get me, and other things like that behind the scenes. There's also in general just a lot of discrimination and bigotry towards minorities and those that are just different (as usual unfortunately), and a lot of propaganda and lies are put out there to let this discrimination be the norm, and conceal the truth. I wanted this song to highlight those issues out there in the world, much like the movie does with its meaning, and also express my struggles in a way that relates to Nimona's struggles in the movie. Saw you perform this live at Megaplex last weekend and it led me to finally watching this movie and omg- i loved it- definitely broke into tears at the end 😭💜
