Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous bounty hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home, Pandora, the most chaotic planet in the galaxy. Her mission is to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Ramírez), the universe’s most powerful S.O.B. Lilith forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits – Roland (Hart), a seasoned mercenary on a mission; Tiny Tina (Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound protector; Tannis (Curtis), the oddball scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (Black), a wiseass robot. Together, these unlikely heroes must battle an alien species and dangerous bandits to uncover one of Pandora’s most explosive secrets. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other. Based on one of the best-selling videogame franchises of all time, welcome to BORDERLANDS.

Lionsgate presents, in association with Media Capital Technologies, an Arad / Picturestart production, a Gearbox Studios / 2K production.

You know a trailer is bad, when you love every single actor in it and all you can think is "Not a single one of these people are correctly cast."
  • By the looks of it, they literally got the world, the guns, the creatures, heck, even claptraps design on point, but when it came down to the characters they were just like "Find me the most 'how do you do fellow teens' actors imaginable for these iconic character roles...

This movie had better come with a disclaimer: "Possibly inspired by a screenshot of a Borderlands game"

Lilith is supposed to be 27 in Borderlands 2. Why in the world did they cast some who is 54 to play someone in their 20s?

All this trailer tells me is that it's gonna end with "We may have not found the vault, but we found friends along the way"

I really didnt realize that borderlands turned into a senior living facility ☠💀

Felt like I was watching a Guardians of The Galaxy trailer.......

Why does this look more like an SNL skit than a actual movie
  • @Slash-pq
This movie looks like it's trying to be a Borderlands parody rather than an actual adaptation
  • Starting the betting pool now: handsome jack will be played by Will Ferral

"I've never played the game but someone told me about it" the movie

Hollywood: "How do you do fellow gamers?"

So, you cast a 65yo woman to play a 30 year old. You cast a 54 year old to play a 27 year old. You cast a 16 year old to play an 8 year old. You cast a short comedian to be a serious 6foot dude. Kreig is like 30 years too early. I have a feeling this isn't going to go down well with the true BL fans

Lilith already teleporting, Krieg being there and Tina too, and seeming like they are exploring their first vault on pandora, it all seems so out of place ngl

Superb work. You can really tell the production team glanced at the Borderlands Wikipedia page.

The fact they didn’t have Marcus narrate the trailer and introduce the characters tells me all I need to know

The only way this turns out well is if they're trolling. I hope they announce 1 week before opening that this was a joke and that nothing in this trailer is actual footage.

It is obvious that the makers of this move have no understanding of the source material. They simply acquired some IP, and decided to slap the "marvel formula" onto it... some producer said "To hell with the story, give me some quippy oneliners and explosions"
