38 years old, hanging in there. The kid who played these games is still here.

My father showed up to school during lunch in second grade one day, full army attire, grabbed my shoulder and said "We have to go." He freaked me out. I was literally thinking like "did Mom die or something?" he was so serious and walked with a purpose... When we got to the van i asked him what was going on. He pulled out DKC2 and said "i just wanted you to get a chance to play this before all your friends." Then i freaked out in a different way. To this day, i view DKC2 as a platforming masterpiece and it will forever hold a place in my heart.

The only problem with this song ... It ends.
  • Checkpoint: 36, recovered heroin addict. Working, has an apartment and car. Happy. Still single, but comfortable with that fact. The last checkpoint I left on this video was really bad: I was suicidal and hopeless. Life always has a way of turning around. Gratitude is my word for the day. Hope everyone here is doing well.
  • Rare: "Hey David can you make a song for our funny game where monkeys are tossed from barrels in a forest?" David Wise: "Yup."
  • It amazes me how David Wise was able to get this song to work on the SNES. This song is unbelievable for its time!

I was 13 years old. It was Christmas Eve 1995. I remember getting up around 7 am and played this game before I went to my grandma's for Christmas. It reminds me of better, simpler times.

There is absolutely no reason that this isn't the #1 song of all time in gaming.
  • @RealSkyDiver2
This will be played at my funeral right after Aquatic Ambiance.

I feel sorry for all those out there who don’t understand or haven’t tried video games. It’s truly an art form. They don’t know what they’re missing
  • Takes me back to being 12 years old, hot summer in july with the smell of cut grass in my stuffy bedroom, drinking a Capri Sun and trying over and over again to progress in this stage. Those were the days

This instantly took me back to 2008, it's like I'm on the other side of the room and I can see 7-year-old me just having fun without having to worry about life.

It reminds me of my homie Max who passed away twenty years ago. We played the game every day. Rest in Peace Max. I hope, that we will see us again on the other side.
