Games Geared Towards Girls are Still Games

Visual Description: A woman faces the camera. She's dressed in a blue t-shirt that says "YEAH, I'M A GAMER I PLAY fashion FEVER" on it. The t-shirt also depicts a yellow Aisha and a blue Kougra holding up clothing to try on. The woman also wears a yellow coloured skirt, and a yellow Wocky plushie is perched on her shoulder. Her hair is worn in a bun and she wears blue-rimmed eyeglasses that help her to see. There are wooden blinds in the background.

Description: I really love the graphics and saying on this Neopets t-shirt, because I feel like it shows a real truth: fashion fever IS a game. Games that are geared towards girls ARE games. I feel like I have some internalized sexism about what a gamer should look like, or what games that a real gamer plays, when in reality gamers can be all gender identities, and games don't have to be super ultra-competitive or violent to be real games.

I wanted to know your opinion about something. Do you think there are more fims than video games? In my opinion I feel like there are more video games than films, globally speaking of course. What about books too? I'm curious to know your take on this
