  • The way chaos works in far cry 2 and how this theme works in both gameplay and story is truly incredible, I miss when Ubisoft cared about their games
  • Fantastic video. I really can't rant enough about Far Cry 2. I really hope Far Cry goes back to a more serious, realistic, down to earth approach in a future title.

Far Cry 2 is, to this day, my favorite of the series. Love your analysis, as always. Thanks for another incredible, insightful video!

Far Cry 2 is so underrated. One thing I learned from it is that things don't always seem to be what you thing they are. You think you're using the factions to your advantage but in reality it is they who are using you even more. You think that you are making things better but in reality you just keep making them worse. You think that by eliminating The Jackal you'll solve things but in reality you're the reason why more weapons are being sold in the war. By causing all the chaos just to get to him. You're just like The Jackal. Only on an obscured mirror. Edit: According to animal symbolism which varies in different cultures I like to point out how the name fits him. Jackals and other wild beasts often appear in the Old Testament of the Bible as symbols of desolation. Hinduism associates the jackal with Kali, the goddess of death and destruction. Jackals are animals that resemble a dog. Because they're very smart, they're mentioned in many African folktales, where they're known as tricksters. A trickster fools the other animals and tricks them into doing things they don't want to do.

Audibly cheered "Yes!" when I seen this notification. Just rewatched your first video on Farcry 2 and am excited to see how you expand on the messages and themes of this masterpiece of a game.

Far Cry 2 is the only game in the entire series where I managed to feel immersed. Sadly the second half of the game gets quite boring. That said, I really believe this is one of the games that would benefit from a proper remake.

One of the most mature Ubisoft games that's for sure. Wish they'd go back to more serious and darker tones.
  • Far cry 2 is that game that really did immersion for me, you’ve helped to accurately get across a lot of the vibes and feels I got when playing this game across in your video, which was as wonderful to watch as most of your videos.

You have a knack of making things i'd not normally pay much attention to fascinating. Great work!

I love your essays for showing art and deeper meaning in games. Never loose your passion. It would be a catastrophe for a world.
  • @Bobo011
While i love the story, i think the game suffers from having a too large of a map and a lot of meaningless missions, this is why i think that if the game was tighter(shorter map, fewer missions) then it would be a masterpiece in my eyes. Also good video.

Excellent stuff! Far Cry 2 is such a masterpiece, and it’s great how articulate you are in talking about its themes. Plus it was such an incredibly FUN game to play.

This video is so frickin good, you really deserve so much more attention. It's rare to see someone that talks about these themes in games the way you do
  • @plastiquemonk
love that avatar was hiding in the corner when you mentioned white saviorism
  • @BobsRevenge
Far Cry 2 has always been my favorite game to think about since I first played it, great to see you do a video on it
  • @DARE0451
fantastic vid as always, Lead. even as a fan of this game's artistry and ludonarrative, you made me see angles I had never fully absorbed before.
  • @havebrainsmust
