Before bed every night, one of these documentaries 👌

To describe those airmen as courageous would be a big understatement. They bred them very tough those days, and their commitment to Queen and country is immeasurable.

Winston Churchill was the perfect man for the worst moment.

In Hitler's mind, Russia was more of an enemy than the UK and thought they would eventually sue for peace. That war would have ended much differently if England was knocked out of the war before moving on Russia. Thank God for stupid mistakes.

Britains achievements in the world are truly remarkable considering how small of an island it is geographically but yet it has managed to assert its dominance on a global scale unlike any other empire before.

Britain was confident Germany couldn’t invade, even to the extent of fighting a major land war in North Africa, while leaving little ground forces to defend Britain.
  • @dukecraig2402
Because the British weren't having any of it, pretty simple.

At the time Britain had the largest and most powerful navy, so in order to invade by sea the Nazis had to have command of the air so they could attack the Royal Navy by air. They couldn’t defeat the RAF so had to cancel their invasion as their invasion force would have been obliterated by the Royal Navy.

There are many factors missing in this review, including commonwealth countries contributions, and as far as tech goes, no mention of radar or the mosquito, which even Goering himself was quoted as being "envious" of, radiometric fuses for flak, and magnetic fuses for torpedoes to name a few. Many factors including luck contributed to how it all worked out, the one thing that is concurrent throughout is the grit and determination or the people taking part, something that is often taken for granted but is greatly appreciated by those of us descendants of those who served and veterans of further future conflicts.

RAF had a modernised radar system to pinpoint the Luffwafe forces. Also the Kriegsmarine doesn’t have enough battleships to confront the Royal Navy, even the U-Boats aren’t enough to sustain.

Because they didn't come across the channel in little inflatable boats.

Great upload! Thank you. Lot of places edit out certain things. Show it like it really was. Hits home harder. Reality based.
  • @finncullen
He only wanted to invade England so he could recover a personal item from the Albert Hall
  • Britain doesn't get colonised, Britain does the colonizing, as Churchill said " I would rather see Britain burnt to ash, than be overtaken " 😂
  • The RAF prevented the Luftwaffe from gaining air superiority. To attempt an invasion without air superiority would have been doomed to failure.

The British are exceptionally skilled in war and are perfectly capable of defending themselves if needed.

The RAF and the battle of Britain. One of my favorite WWII lectures. I have a video on it as well.
