  • It's not all crazy. You can enjoy an exquisite limoncello with a sfogliatella (the other two great but gems of Neapolitan food often overshadowed by pizza) overlooking picturesque if not breath taking scenery. Italy. What a country from head to toe.

I wonder whether people who live in old cities and towns realise how lucky they are ; imagine being part of history daily .Thanks Rick , these places look different and more interesting through your eyes .

I lived there in the mid eighties for nearly 5 years. I was reminded of how lucky as an American kid I was to live amongst culture, history and amazing cuisine. I lived in a beach resort town about 25 minutes north of Napoli in the south end of Pinetamare at Fontana Bleu. My parents were avid travelers and always took me on vacation. I remember historical things that would easily be forgotten reading a text book in class. I knew the average kid my age back home would never have this opportunity. I think most military kids who live in exotic places overseas are handed this lottery ticket of opportunity. It was a short trip from the NATO base to the Mergellina rail station and about 10 to 15 min to Piazza Garibaldi. I miss the markets, trips so Sorrento, Ischia, Capri. I was always in the moment.

I just turned 49 and when I was just a kid I used to watch him on PBS all the time. It's great to see his videos again. They are timeless....

  • I was stationed in Naples in the mid-1980s for three years. I still miss it to this day. It's a beautiful city in all its color, craziness, vivaciousness, and zest for love and life. Someday, I will return to see it again. Mi manca Napoli sempre, ma spero a vederla nel futuro. Grazie and ciao ciao! Petrio

I loved my stay in Napoli, every one I met was friendly, down to Earth, and made me feel at home. I found the local Italian people warm and genuine, no BS, just real nice Italian people, I can not wait to go back. As a guy, I must admit too, the ladies have the most beautiful eyes , skin, and looks to go as I have ever seen. Ive travelled around the world quite a bit, but love Italy the most.

I spent 2 days in Naples as a stopover in Italy between Rome and the Amalfi coast and I absolutely adore it. The plan originally was just 1 day but I felt I had to extend it so I could see more. And I still want to go back! The soul and spirit of Napoli is amazing, love it.
