Jedi Temple Guards aren't just there to look cool! Though they certainly do that as well.

  • I really hope we get to see Hayden Christiansen fighting a bunch of them during the Order 66 flashback in the Kenobi movie.

The Dark Truth is: They don’t care what happens to the Jedi Temple in exchange for 600 Credits
  • Many sentinels were also relegated to the Jedi service corps. Yoda and other masters arrogantly believed them largely unnecessary, untrustworthy due to their focus on rooting out the Sith, or as lesser Jedi. Had there been more sentinels during the time of the Clone Wars it is likely that Palpatine would have failed.

If Anakin had survived his return to the Light, and therefore needed a new life support suit, I like to think his new suit would've been based on the armour and masks of Jedi temple guards.
  • It was foolish for the Jedi hold back the Sentinels they could've used to track down CIS spies, find out who framed ahsoka, and maybe spy on some criminal organizations.
  • The Jedi Order has survived several thousands of years of war, and while many will say that it was the Jedi Knights and their courage and bravery that made it possible for the survival of the Order. In truth it was the Jedi Sentinels and their secretive nature that allowed for the Jedi Order survival. Several Jedi Purges have happen before, or Wars that depleted the ranks of the Jedi, but the Sentinels made it possible to secure both the knowledge and personnel of the Order.
  • Jedi Temple Guard: Exist without a lot of lore available in the Clone Wars and the Prequel trilogy 501st Clone: Oh no, anyway I start blasting

The temple guards must have all been on holiday in season 2 when cad bane stole the holocron

When you were talking about how well they knew the Temple, I started imagining scenes where they'd ambush clones from places no one knew existed, wiping out entire squads and then disappearing once again waiting for more squads to enter these kill-zones. Vader noticed that the clones weren't able to progress past certain key areas in the Temple, and had to go clear them himself. I hate the canon explanation that the Grand Inquisitor killed all of them himself before the Temple raid even started - that sounds so boring.
  • "There weren't all too many of them left, for one simple reason..." Gilette razor commercial literally plays at the perfect moment
  • I dont know, between bariss offee's bombing, the bounty hunter's attack, and even their failure against vader. A list of failures to protect the temple makes it likely they were in a period of severe decline.

I'd love to see a story of a jedi sentinel who survived operation nightfall.

Temple Guard shortly before Operation Nightfall: "Man this job sucks, I wish something would happen."

SHADOWS were the ones trained to root out and destroy the dark side and its practitioners, SENTINELS were Jedi with practical skills whose role was to actually go out and help the denizens of the galaxy and spread the light side that way. Shadows were a sub-class of Jedi Sentinel since they were trained in the same practical skills and were usually inherently solitary in nature.
  • Speaking of the grand inquisitor, why does he look so much like the son from the mortis arc. Its this a lore reason or is it simply design???!
  • @Edgelite306
Geetsly: “There weren’t all that many of them left, and that is for one simple reason...” The ad: “My sub has steak!”
  • Aside from the Temple Guard Sentinels, there were also the Sentinel Watchmen. These were Jedi that often chose to spend their lives assigned to a very specific sector or planet. They would sometimes be vigilantees or reliable known figure-heads that stayed in one place and kept it safe from harm. Jedi Batman basically.
  • @Seyomint
I’ve also read in the Jedi Path Handbook that sentinels also learned practical skills outside of the force and among the civilian lives. With the discipline that the Force won’t have an answer for everything. I like that.
