If Gamefreak were completely honest...

Honestly that was just another reason to like Iwata. What a guy, my guy really walked down from his presidential floor and said “fine, I’ll do it myself” and then carried the f out of Pokémon like it was simply a side quest. Iwata the legend 👏

More people need to know about this kind of stuff. Every time I try to explain this to them they tell me I'm lying or exaggerating or whatever else the excuse is. But this has all been known information for such a long time. Gamefreak is not given the resources or time to make good games and moreover they don't WANT to make Pokemon games. It's time for Nintendo to fully acquire the franchise and shift development to someone else who will treat it with care and give it the same level of Nintendo polish and investment that you see with things like Mario or Zelda.

Its such a breath of fresh air that an "honest pokemon video" went the "We at Gamefreak are in over our heads!" route instead of the "We're not even trying. You guys will buy a shit game anyway" route.

7:30 and I’ve suddenly just realized that more than half of the generations of Pokémon will no longer have connectivity to the current games once Pokémon Bank’s servers shut down… They’re really gonna have to remake gen ii and iii or have a game like Legends for each region so that you can catch every Pokémon of a region in a single game without trades or anything.

That Veporeon joke hit me outta nowhere and I loved it.

Not to mention Scarlet/Violet were in development during covid lockdown, so this may have affected the quality of the games. While Legends Arceus barely dodged the pandemic.

At this rate, I’m just waiting for Monolith to take over.

I was expecting to watch a parody joke video of some Nintendo rep freaking out and having a breakdown, of something like that. But damn, this was way better. Informative, entertaining, and serious in a way where you can see the humor, but still appreciate the facts being presented. Very well done.

Ahhh and there it is, the virtual console. Where we have to continually replay the older games on a new generation console to transfer the data instead of going up a bit to throw them into Pokemon home.

This is a fun little video, leaves me with a big question: Why? “We aren’t exactly a triple A studio” This is the largest grossing franchise in the world. Why has it not been moved to a bigger, more capable studio or why hasn’t Game Freak evolved into a bigger more capable studio that can handle these games? You’d think Nintendo & the TPC would want to put a lot into this franchise to make it the best it could be.

I feel really bad and scared for the franchise because everything in this video is 100%

4:33 I'd like to clarify an error, here. Creatures is still a massive force in The Pokémon Company. Not only do they still manage the merchandising of the franchise (which garners the majority of revenue for Pokémon), they also still handle modeling for the main games. They were even the developers for Detective Pikachu Returns. If anything, Creatures Inc is the sole Mommy of TPC.

I’ve always loved this series for ribbing on the “big boys” but they truly are correct here. GF is locked in a 3 year dev cycle(when other companies are given 4-6) all due to the anime schedule.
