I've been following Dr. Wiel's advice for 35 years. Just had a heart scan and at 60, no artery blocked more than 30%. Heart valves strong and no signs of cancer. Every marker of health good. I owe it all to his advise. Eat Real food and give up the rest.

Right before covid I began eating healthy. I cut out all sweaters in drinks and all processed carbs. I have lost 12” on my waist and have put all my levels back into what is considered very healthy for a man my age. I have done very little exercise and I actually each 2400-3000 calories a day. I continue to loose weight and my doctor is proud of me for nothing. I have done nothing, this is easier than any “diet” ever was. I hate to think how much time I wasted, I’m just happy to be free.

I no longer own a microwave so I don't buy the foods I use to buy. We don't go out to eat I cook for my kids and we pray over our food.
  • I am late to the party but I am so thankful that I found you and your message. I am overweight, I have cerebral palsy, and anxiety.. I am trying to impove my health and mobility. Dr. Weil will be remembered in the annals of medicine as a doctor well ahead of his time.
  • The fountain of youth is organic whole food, exercise. and dental care. This is what one learns when they research and find the best health educators in the world. Dr. Weil on one of them.

I agree with everything said here. The elephant in the room is big business, ubiquitous food and sodas in almost all airports, train stations and nearly all public buildings. Then there is the constant bombardment of advertising, sports sponsorship and shops strategic placement of all sorts of sugar products. You have to really know what you're shopping for and stick to it. Unfortunately the Government will never tackle the corporates and we're living in an era of such self indulgence It's difficult for people I say this as someone who has not struggled with weight but can see how it can creep up on people
  • American's need to listen to Dr. Weil...a Brilliant Man...a smart American :) I love learning from him xx

I did this and lost 60 lbs pretty easily when nothing else worked. Gotta get back to that.
  • I had a friend who stopped drinking sugary drinks and he lost 30 to 40 pounds.

I used to put 2 then 3 tbsp. of sugar in my coffee when I was in college. I had complexion problems and was advised to take zinc supplement. I noticed that after a while by taking the zinc my need for sugar decreased!

I met Dr Weil & shook his hand before a forum in Chicago about 8 yrs ago after having read 3-4 of his books already by then & having made significant changes to my diet lifestyle. I trust him because he combines Western & Eastern diets & medicine to create the best of both worlds unanimously

I'm sitting here watching eating my breakfast which is shrimp, olive oil, bok choy, and mushrooms. Having some ginger water as well. No sugar needed. I usually only eat berries and cycle in and out of keto as it has been a game changer for my migraines.

People in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s were also much more active in daily life.  Walking and physical work was the way of life.

I developed celiac disease and soy intolerance. If we didn't have such disgusting processed food I don't think anybody would develop such severe reactions to foods. So sad. Always eat healthy whole natural foods.

Love this video, great points not only on sugar but the daily intake of certain fats, processed foods and more! Thank you Dr. Weil!

👃I whole heartedly agree with the need in our society to reduce the amount of sugars in our diet. Too much we let sugars control how we feel or what food we are going to eat. I have made it my goal to not be controlled by processed sugars and to be in control of my habits. It takes an effort to retrain your brain so sugars do not control the brain!
  • I totally agree with excess sugar being a major problem. An old cookbook I owned had outrageous sugar measurements in the baking recipes. Or how about adding sugar to your vegetables while cooking? Try going into a supermarket and finding wholesome foods to take home to your family. The food processing industry is giving us few choices for healthy food, using sugar, among other things like a drug dealer to get us hooked. That’s where the solution to the sugar problem has to start; forcing food giants to stop plying their products with sugar and other chemicals that are causing our health to go haywire.
