Rescued Israeli Hostage Recounts Eight Months in Hamas Captivity | Amanpour and Company

Published 2024-07-12
In Gaza, 120 hostages are still held captive by Hamas. In his opening remarks last night, President Biden spoke of his determination to arrive at a ceasefire deal, saying, “There’s still gaps to close. We’re making progress.” Behind at least some of these gaps is believed to be Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who reportedly hardened his demands for a hostage deal once again. Bianna Golodryga spoke with Andrey Kozlov, who was rescued after eight months' captivity. A Russian-Israeli citizen, Andrey had been living in Israel for only 18 months when he was taken from the Nova music festival on October 7th. Along with three others, he was rescued from Gaza’s Nuseirat camp on June 8th. In an exclusive TV interview Andrey shared his experience and his reflections after just one month of freedom.

He is an adult. Can you imagine the hell the children of Gaza are going through every day.
  • @hasssartawi9472
Sounds like the US-made, Israeli-dropped bombs scared him way more than the captors themselves!
  • @KiwikimNZ
I am so pleased you are safe and came out of this alive dear. I am sorry that you now have to deal with this trauma. I wish you all the very best in your recovery and I pray for a happy and healthy life ahead of you. ❤
  • “Sound from hell” is how this guy described the bombing of Gaza by Israel. The truth comes out eventually no matter how cautious one might be. Gaza has been described as hell on earth long time ago by humanitarian organizations.
  • Despite the conditions, Palestinians are facing in Gaza , they still treat Israeli hostages better than Palestinians hostages in Israeli jails.
  • @JibskySacar
Hostages were more afraid of Israel's airstrikes than being with Hamas.
  • Be sensitive to all irrespective of religion, race. All are human beings. Who started all these??
  • The hell that the kidnapped have to go through by revisiting their life there is indescribable and very painful. How many interviews, how many times, how many news channels... their PTSD is so fresh..
  • @zahida9150
See conditions of those who are held captive by Israel to those who are held captive by Hamas...totally different .he is mentally and physically fit

Haaretz. 7/7/24 “IDF ordered Hannibal Directive on Oct 7 to prevent Hamas taking soldiers captive”
  • @littleflags
Why don’t you interview some of the Palestinian hostages released by Israel?

I love Bianna’s disposition while she’s listening to his story. It’s far more sensitive and attentive than most journalists on mainstream news. She allowed him to take his time and breathe. It makes all the difference in the storytelling.
  • Please interview rescued Palestinian man & woman from Israeli prison.
  • @fikrirazaq8373
Unfortunately 37000 Palestinians not able to reconcile with their families. So much for 'saving the hostages'. Thanks to IDF and Netanyahoo.
  • @alphaomega8373
I never heard any of them, say that they are grateful to be alive.

Look at the difference between Israel prisoners and Palestinian prisoners. The Israelis all come out healthy and happy. All the Palestinians come out scarred, beaten, broken, starved, tortured. That should show you everything you need to know.
