Making fresh lavender + rosemary oil & training my crazy little chihuahua (story 46)

2023-08-19に共有
Hello, friends! The garden here at the cottage welcomed me back with open arms! I picked some fragrant rosemary and fresh lavender to infuse in some olive oil for my hair and skin. I love making my own natural beauty products from herbs I grow here in the garden!

I also share some of the challenges that I had training my little Charlie. It wasn't easy AT ALL. And he's still a work in progress ... but we're getting there!! I love this little guy so much : )

Thank you so, so much for being here : ) I really appreciate it!!!!!! And I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Quitting refined sugar has been THE best thing I've ever done for my body. I have so much less inflammation and joint pain, clearer thought, better skin. Bravo! Stick to it, it only gets better my friend.

I have had a summer that didn't turn out quite like I had hoped, some health issues and family worries held me back from "the dream summer." Your gentle reminder to focus on the things that were beautiful, and there were so many, helped me to lean into my own little cottage and the enchantment all around me. Your beautiful voice and gentle way reminds me that being sensitive in this increasingly crazy world requires lots of quiet time and reflection. Thank you so much for your contribution, so often you say the very thing I was longing to hear. xo

I think your little guy is a protector at heart. That’s probably why he doesn’t sleep with you. He is watching the house for you.

The Bible says, "As a man thinketh, so is he." So true. Beautiful video. I love seeing how others live, think and believe. It takes puppies about two years to calm down, so to speak. We just adopted a chihuahua mix (I think he is mixed with a terrier) last night from the humane society; he is 7. He had two little sisters waiting at our house when he got home (dachshunds). They all slept well in the bed together last night so hoping all goes well. This little precioius boy responds to NOTHING. He either has a hearing problem or his previous owner never loved on him or played with him. So sad. We are taking him to our vet this week. If he has issues, sobeit. He is now in his forever home. 🐈💜💜
  • You are such a lovely woman. When you get hard on yourself, remember that you are precious in the sight of God. He loves snd adores you snd gave His all for you. Really enjoy your episodes. Thank you for sharing with us. Krystyna

The smartest dog I've ever had was a 10-year-old, rescued, female chi named Cizzy. Her owner had to go into a nursing home and I was lucky enough to adopt her. She was an alpha, but only with other dogs. It was so funny walking at the park with friends and their dogs. Cizzy was one of the smallest, but she always hustled to be a "nose" in front of the others!

I can so relate to your alpha Charlie. I have had two alpha dogs in my life, and it was a challenge. (even though I loved them dearly and I still mourn their passing) I have also raised two alpha-personality sons, who are now teenagers. I am a very soft-hearted person and this has all been a major challenge for me. Then I adopted my current dog, a pug puppy. This is the first easy-going dog I have ever had and I am amazed at the difference!! He turned 1 in May, and I still haven't even gotten him fixed because his behaviour is so perfect and I have read that there are benefits to waiting. (no judgment though, I cannot imagine my other dogs not being neutered younger with their strong personalities). My little pug feels like a gift, I already fear him passing away someday because he is truly my soul mate!
  • Going "no sugar, no starches has been the best move for me! I use chopped dill pickles with my tuna. Delicious and sugar free❤
  • I love your Chanel and your fur baby is precious! I'm a chihuahua lover bigtime. Last December I had to say goodbye to my chihuahua of 22 years due to many health issues. It devastated me like never before with any other dog. When I see your charlie I see my little 6 lb Coopie. It warms my heart to see him on your videos. Love him up as much as you can. Sending Love and Light from Sacramento, California ❤

The greatest bonds in life, require patience, time, trust and unconditional love 💕 Things worth having are not instant. You and Charlie have worked so hard to bond. Everyone’s lives are different.
  • You are smart, intelligent, and a creative individual. Your house is sweet, and live your garden. Of course, the little one is precious. Just remember you're a sweet person. We see it in all your videos.

Charlie is a sweetie, he's come a long way. My strongest bonds have been with small dogs, especially female Chihuahuas. If anyone wants a dog who adores them, look into a female Chihuahua. My best girl was a rescue from a breeding situation. She acted like my "mom " always reading my emotions. I adored her.

Remember all dogs are pack creatures and need a leader. We have to be the leader or pack mom. I love how puppies remind me of toddlers so silly, will try and sometimes look back to see if ok, but all need direction.
  • Add some melted wax to your Rosemary & lavender infusion & you have a bug balm. I live in the deep South where mosquitos are as big as bees, lol. It really works! Love your videos & Charlie!🥰
  • What a sweet and aromatic video! A couple of weeks ago you inspired me to make fire cider, which I’d never heard about! I made four jars and gave two away. So eager and curious to try it in a couple of weeks. I love hearing about training Charlie… I’ve never had a dog and I’m considering getting one. The cat I have now is 17 years old and she was a rescue. I have spent most of her life training her as well, to not bite me and to let me brush her. She is so affectionate now. Every night she gets up on the pillow where I brush her and waits for me. When she and my other cat—now gone—were young I used baby food as treats to teach them their names. She also knows about 10 other words. She’s an indoor outdoor cat and has a curfew! Every night at 9:30 she has to come in. I learned how important habit and routine are for cats, so I feel good about giving her that structure. What I envy about your beautiful world is the moisture! Here in California with the triple digit heat on top of a multi year drought and sometimes I think I’m going to go crazy! Today it is cooler and it’s like a breath of heaven. I also got some tasty little tomatoes this year, but the leaves on my green beans are crisping up into dust because they can’t survive the sun. I am working on being grateful for what is growing and taking note what other people do to help their garden survive. Thank you again for an utterly lovely excursion into your world!
  • My chihuahua, Jaz, has the same temperament. It has taken many years to get her to stop, sit, stay. Every time the door opened she would try to escape. I had several scary moments when she was in her teens… Today she is 10 and finally calm, likes to sit in my lap or next to me. Still working on her barking at strangers. Everyone laughs because she is so tiny and couldn’t really do any harm above your ankles. 😅
  • @laurieeyebee
I love that little dog! But then I've loved every dog I've ever dogsat for. I live alone now and I have a mischievous CAT whom I loved dearly but he's the king, for sure.
  • Lovely video and your Charlie is so adorable even his tiny tantrum was adorable to watch ❤

What a wonderful gift! I loved seeing vintage photos of your previous dogs and you 😊
