I just got this song and noticed that theres a lot of debate about the words so I did the subspace and wrote down the lyrics as fast as I could (I had to fight tabuu like 5 times so be grateful, and yes there are some slight spelling mistakes in the latin) and for anyone who says these arent the right lyrics why would these people put the wrong lyrics on their game? I hope you all enjoy it took me a while to sync the words and music so it took about an hour to make so please rate it and be kind. The words on the top are the words you here and they are in latin at the bottom is the english translation.(DUH!)

*Even though I have the song and lyrics does NOT mean i own them. ALL rights to their respected owners*(Nintendo, etc.)

  • Yo, Nintendo did not have to go THIS HARD for the theme of a game where Mario can beat up Pikachu but they did, and they deserve all the respect in the world.

I still say, for it's shortcomings, Brawl has the best soundtrack of the 4 games
  • When you think about it, this is the player's theme. The lyrical I speaks of the different people they've heard of - both heroes and villains - and how they now stand with them against a common enemy. The player is basically saying that they teamed up with the characters that they know through all the other games to fight a new foe together.

Latin is such a beautiful language. I’m glad I took it for 2 years.

This is a perfect theme for the game. It accentuates what makes the SSB series great: beloved legends from many different universes coming together in the glory of battle.

One of the reasons why Latin is one of the most beautiful languages ever.

should be the anthem for the 2020 Japan olympics. Edit: Due to biological difficulties on earth. Olympics will be postponed until 2021. Statement still stands

It's in Latin. Of course. No wonder it made no sense in english...

"I'll eat a log, we be blue, so it was a bee and i flee a salami"🎵🎶

Video Games generally don't get me super nostalgic because I still like to revisit older games pretty frequently. But MAN, this song hits me in a way I cannot explain. I just remember being on IGN's Smash Bros. board, where everyone was absolutely hyped for Brawl's release...
  • @kitsune_thunder
My favourite part is still the "Some of them were once heroes."
  • @KrisKringlez
I always thought they were saying nonsense....just saying "ha he ha ha...he he he...."

"Here I stand with my FRIENDS. Some were once heroes, Some, my MORTAL ENEMIES..." ...woah. I know it's a song about Ganon fighting alongside Link and Zelda, and Mario and Luigi fighting alongside Bowser, but wow... Take a second to think about your mortal enemy. Your nemesis. The person who wants you dead and suffering. Now imagine you are friends with them. After years of fighting them and defending your homeland. Now you're both friends, and you stand together. Both your pasts behind you. Just wow, man.
  • The song is amazing. And when u think about the character how some are heroes, villains, rivals. And their all together fighting shining even more. It’s truly magnificent.

Thanks Latin, years of practice leads me to translate this shit. All I needed it for. Worth it

Just in case you don't want to research xP "The Main Theme song was revealed along with the game itself at the game's first trailer in E3 2006 before being posted at the site much later. This thundering orchestra with vocals sung in Latin was composed by famed Final Fantasy series composer Nobuo Uematsu, and its lyrics were supervised by Masahiro Sakurai himself." - Source: Super Smash Bros. • Girls in Latin class: "If only they had French or Greek instead..." Boys in Latin class:
  • This song hits me with a wave of pure nostalgia whenever I hear it. So many good memories of playing this game with friends and family
