    I was under the impression that one should always use a resistor in series with the LED so that it wouldn't draw more current than the micor:bit could supply, damaging the pin it was connected to. Do you know whether this is unneccessary?
  • I build a similar one with my daughter, except we had a buzzer instead of the light and we set it up in her room as a test to catch a thief.

    The microbit only supplies 3v, but the sensors you provided in the link operate between 4v and 20v. Is this going to be a problem?
