With Alien: Covenant hitting U.S. theaters soon, we thought we'd go back to the franchise and look for sins in the infamous sequel, Aliens. Guess what? We found some!!

May is Mental Health Month, and it's a subject that means a lot to us here at CinemaSins.

In fact, we’re partnering with Mental Health America (MHA) to not only to raise awareness of mental health issues – but also to raise a little money, too. We’ve got a brand-new Cinema Sins t-shirt in the shop, and all of the profits from the sale of the shirt will be donated to our friends at MHA.

Click here to check out or purchase the shirt: www.districtlines.com/109796-Color-Logo/Cinema-Sin…

Next Week: An ocean-based sequel and a recent horror film.

Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

I couldn't imagine how many times I've seen Aliens and yet I never had that "Queen takes Bishop!" joke come to to mind.

The fact that this movie is completely re-watchable a full 30 years after its release should absolve it of all of its sins.

The answer is nothing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this movie. It is perfection
  • Well, at the very least, Ripley’s daughter had the chance to live out her life in peace to a ripe old age. Thanks to her mom, she never had to encounter the xeno... oh wait..

No sin off for the fact that for once they get the countdown at the end exactly right? The movie tells us the explosion happens in 15 minutes, and it takes exactly 15 minutes of movie time to get there.
  • Bill Paxton is a National Treasure. Because he is the only person in this movie to be killed by an Alien a Predator and a Terminator. Rest in peace.
  • I watched Aliens last night and finally figured out how the aliens got inside the complex through the floor and ceiling. There was a scene earlier when the sentry guns were firing at a massive onslaught of xenomorphs. Well since they bleed acid they basically all got riddled with bullets. The spatter and gushing of acid caused massive holes in the metal structure all around them. So those bled out, sacrificing themselves so the others could get inside. This was never addressed in the movie but thinking with xenomorph hive mindset, that’s definitely how I would approach the situation.

I love when Ripley gives the iconic line and CinemaSins simply takes off the sins without explanation.

speaking as a soldier, combat seating is indeed a thing :) when you just move from A to B you just pick a spot in the APC, but when you are tactically moving, you sit so that when you disembark, you come out of the vehicle in the right formation

Burke: "This installation has a substantial dollar value attached to it." Ripley: "Well they can BILL me." Ripley's the best.
  • Fun fact: There is nothing wrong with this movie it’s perfect and one of the greatest films ever made
  • I always felt that they were impressed by Ripley operating the mech suit because they had assumed she was just a civilian they were gonna have to babysit, not someone who would actually be useful and pull their own weight.

In military speak saying "Look into my eye" while opening it wider (sometimes with your middle finger) means "Look into my eye and see how much I don't give a f**k."
  • 12:38 Ripley threatened to burn the eggs and the Queen was like "All right all right be cool", told her soliders to stand down and let Ripley and Newt go but a nearby egg hatched prematurely and Ripley was like "Screw it" She could've avoided that but we would've missed Ripley's raw anger at these monsters.
  • I've seen this film more times than I can count. Easily 50 times, probably closer to 100, and I can almost quote it word for word. And yet, every time I watch it, it still creates the same emotions. It's still scary, tense, edge of your seat, brilliant, atmospheric, amazing, funny every time.

Only 3 sins removed for one of the most badass moments in movie history? Goddamn groot got 5 just for being in the movie...
  • @TheRavieDavie
The Alien appearing behind Newt is such an amazing shot, deserved a sin knocked off.
  • @thereflex101
I love that he didn’t even comment on the ridiculousness of Ripley’s one elbow vs. THE ENTIRE VACCUM OF SPACE.... just a simple, firm “no” 😂

My favorite film of all time. There's "NOTHING" wrong with this utter masterpiece. Cinematic gold. I will go as far as saying how dare you slate this movie.
