As a kid, I was abused by my mother and stepfather, and forced to live in a shed in our backyard. I had a bed, a tv and my toys. It was Cullen, as Optimus Prime that kept me going and gave me hope. His voice and my imagination let me escape that cruelty for a time. I met him only a few years ago at a convention and what he meant to me all those decades ago choked me up and I could barely get my name out. I tried to apologize and he just said it was ok and he understood!

Along with the likes of James Earl Jones ,Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy , Peter Cullen deserves this lifetime achievement award for his legendary voice work as Optimus Prime... the man simply gave us the greatest leader-esque/heroic baritone voice you'll ever hear. Congrats Peter Cullen.
