Age discrimination is alive but actually the best employees are the seasoned and experienced workers!

Age discrimination is an unfortunate reality. Seniors offer great value to any company.

She's been reduced to begging for a job by someone who feels privileged and superior. This happens more than we're willing to admit.

While waiting for a job interview at Boeing, the HR person came out and in front of everyone yelled, āI want them young and cheap!ā I was selected for an interview after yelling back, āThatās discrimination!ā I was not hired but felt stronger bc it was their loss since I had many years prototyping/āmanufacturing aeronautical electronic devices and mechanical components. Every project I worked on was a success even though there were times I had 27 projects at once. I also had government clearances.

I worked for over 40 years with a very world wide respectable company as an territory manager. When I retired December 2021 my former managers treated me like they would never wanted me to go. Super awesome management. They recognized my talent and my experience no matter how old I was. As a senior person now all I can tell is that, my younger peers always looked for my point of view.

this is how managers treat people outside their narrow self image, they employ people who look like them.

Earning respect comes from giving respect.

Even though this is a skit at best. The reality is that there are CEOs and workers who behave this way.

Companies should be more careful who they put in charge. Their business depends on it.

Years ago my wife and I were told to leave a NY menās clothing store because it didnāt appear we could afford anything there. We were there on vacation and I wasnāt wearing the clothes I normally did at my job as an aeronautical engineer. Their loss.
