Making coffee orders is the most stressful thing I've ever done
  • The most unrealistic aspect of the game was the customers actually being patient.

"Give me the usual." "I've never seen your face before." As a barista, I felt that in my soul.

imagine you order you drink and the guy making it messes up two times goes in the back room and yells "IT'S NOT EVEN COFFEE!?" and he starts sobbing

In case you guys didn’t know, that guy on the bus that stares at you isn’t actually staring at you, he’s staring at the stalker sitting directly behind you. When you’re walking away from the bus, you can also see the stalker staring at you as the bus drives away in the seat that was behind yours.

"I hate this job! I HATE ALL OF YOU!" He has been a barista for a grand total of 17 minutes and hes already speaking like a veteran

3:20 "I gave you what you wanted, you're not going to come back at the end of the game and kill me, right?" That's some unintentional foreshadowing on Jack's part.
  • "Emotions are high, and salaries are low." My favorite line from Jack.
  • I hate how realistic the whole “nobody would ever want to stalk you” thing is

Jack vomiting from the stress of taking people's orders while soft jazz plays in the background is really a perfect description of working customer service
  • Customer: "I'll just have my usual" Jack:"I've never seen your face before" That is the truest shit from customer service/fast food, that I ever heard 😂
  • The first time we see the mother, she has her baby horribly underdressed during winter. Next time we see her, she’s crying while pushing an empty stroller. I think that’s implying the baby died from neglect, and it’s honestly horrifying to think that detail, which is completely removed from the main story and general theme of stalking, is just there. Like the main focus is our character and multiple customers worrying about stalking and assault cases in the area, while in the background a child dies from an idiot parent’s carelessness.
  • I don't think I've ever seen a game that encapsulates being a woman so well. Creepy men always hitting on you getting unsolicited advice from Strangers. An act of simple kindness being perceived as an act of genuine affection leads into Someone's stalking you at your place of work And large amounts of victim blaming.

To the men who have been stalked by someone, you're valid in feeling disgusted and violated.

As someone who deals with the public regularly, watching Jack struggle with a fake service job is strangely satisfying.

I appreciate how thoroughly Jack got into character as a mild-mannered, extremely stressed barista who hates her job and is constantly scared for her life bc of her stalker
  • The freaky thing about this game is that these things actually happen. I remember I use to walk to and from school because my dad used the only car to go to work and we didn't have enough money to pay for the bus fare and one day I remember walking to school and this dude just appeared out of nowhere and started following me, I remember feeling scared and uncomfortable but thank goodness one of the schools male counselors was driving by and asked if I was alright, I went up to the window and tried to quietly explain the situation while this guy was watching and staring at me the entire time, the counselor didn't feel comfortable with me getting in his car but agreed to drive right beside me as we made our way to the school. This creep followed me all the way to the school and still didn't leave so once the counselor parked his car he told me to go to class while he handled this dude and he called security. I didn't know what happened after that as I had just headed to class but a few days later my dad got a call from the school saying that a man was claiming to be my uncle and was there to pick me up ( he stated what room I was in and who my teacher was) which my dad immediately shot down saying that he was the only person who would ever come to pick me up and he was currently at work. I didn't understand this back then but the fact that the guy came to the school specifically asking for me and knew my classroom number and teacher's name (which he couldn't have known because I never talked to him and nothing I was carrying like my backpack or my lunchbox had my name written on them) meant that he had been watching and stalking me for those few days I didn't see him. Usually the school didn't call parents for pickup confirmation because well it was a safe district and things like this rarely if ever happened but because that male counselor told the office staff to watch out for anyone asking for specifically me they thought to call my father instead of taking the creeps word for it. Still to this day I'm so grateful for that counselor who looked out for me because I don't know what that guy would have tried the first day I caught him following me if he hadn't noticed my discomfort while driving by.
  • The shirtless guy came in and just started bustin' a move. He's a national treasure.

I think one of the best things about this video, and by extension the game, is that Jack literally got to experience the real psychological damage that stalking can do to people. As he put it "I can't concentrate on this order." It stresses you out beyond reason, even when you aren't in danger or the person isn't nearby, the threat of their presence is enough to disrupt your life. I have to admit I really like this game, hat's off to the creator!

I still remember the time the cashier cried when I gave a thanks in response. Turns out I was the only person to even thank her in the 4 months she worked there. Seeing Sean slowly descend into madness puts that in perspective.
