The sheer comedic pay off of watching 100 purple pikmin carry the doomsday apparatus across the entire map, marching through fields of corpses, each step longer than the last, only for them to reach the ship and have it be worth one poko almost killed me.

So in canon Pikmin 2 Louie stayed behind most likely because he wanted to stay on the pikmin planet, and got captured by the Titian Dweevil by accident. In Pikmin 2 Kaizo Louie got tired of all this madness and grinding and left, only to forget that this is Pikmin 2 Kazio he got captured by the Titan dewevil.

the fact the ship's research pod can just fly around and not just get the treasure it's self after you have delt with the threats is one of the many reasons for a frieghting company's inevitable downturn into forgotten publications

I guarantee you the final floor was meant to have an abyss but the creator had to remove it because if a shock therapist orb lands in the abyss the game crashes, at least according to the dev notes in 216

"Lands of Torture" is another difficult Pikmin 2 mod. Only I find Lands of Torture to be much better. I thought Kaizo was way too repetitive. There was no variety in the caves. Lands of Torture was much more interesting and far less repetitive. And it's a shame it's overshadowed by Kaizo. You should give that one a shot if you haven't already.
