Fun as this is, Angron had it bad. Empathetic psychic connection, Eldar making a self fulfilled prophecy on a recently awoken Angron, Dark Age of Technology world of slavers, implantation of the nails and killing his father figure, getting robbed of dying with his family, being forced to serve under an uncaring "father", being unable to feel anything other than pain and rage outside of slaughter, being offered up to Khorne by your brother, and overall never having a real choice.

Im sure that knowing that half of Primarchs would betray him, when the Emperor saw Angron he was like "yup this one is a obvious one, thx khorne...."
  • "The only legion that were negatively impacted by the return of their Primarch" cough*deathguard*cough
  • Fun fact Pre-Heresy Kharn was also friends with Sigismund of the Imperial Fists/Black Templars and they used to duel a lot together. It was from him and his World Eaters the Black Templars took up the tradition of chaining their close combat weapons to their hands.

Big E did infact "try" to remove the Butcher's Nails. The simple fact is that it was not known how to remove the Nails without killing him ( I guess ). Big E recruited the famous Magos, Arkhan Land to research into the Nails and find a way to remove them from Angron, without killing him. They never succeded.

They were very angry before turning to chaos and became even angrier after. The End.

I firmly believe the theory that the Emperor planned on replacing the Primarchs and Astartes, like he did the Thunder Warriors. Otherwise his treatment of Angron just makes no damn sense.

The last time I was this early the emperor was considering to abort angron

I like Angron, his berserker fury and total disregard for his own life (and actual battle tactics) can be summed up as such: By his own admission, he died on Nuceria with his gladiator brothers and sisters, all he was now was a ghost desperately seeking death in battle.

I can't believe generic Purterabo beat literal demon prince Angron. He really is just a punching bag for writers to throw under the bus.

Emperor: "Are you, uh, a real primarch? Have you ever conquered a planet, like, uh, like a real hive-world? Have you ever tried a strategy?" Angron: "Nah, nah..." Emperor: "Alright! I can see that I will have to teach you, Nothing!"
  • Khorne had a really bad choice like: hmmm wich primarch should i pick, one who can conquer an fight wars or one who coulnd’t even conquer a planet hmmm
  • What I found interesting after reading the Primarch Novel Angron: Slave of Nuceria, was the legion were like abused kids that desperately wanted the affection of the abusive father, and only by emulating his behavior could they gain anything other than disdain. That was probably the most tragic part for me, that they knew what the nails did to Angron , but were so desperate to be accepted by him that after getting them they already started killing those who refused at first to get them until everybody complied.

Your cabin fever add's a tiny bit more spice to this.

I have to be suspicious about a guy that has a imaginary child that he beats and berates frequently. But I turn a blind eye since said imaginary child is very annoying and might just be the representation of the people he doesn't like.

"only legion who negatively benefited off the retrieval of their primarch" IRON WARRIORS: are we a joke to you?!
