For color changes, I will recommend creating a front layer graphic keeping only parts you do't want to change colors for every frame and using the clone script to overlay on the main sprite. I did this for a canceled Nicktoons vs Cartoon Network vs Disney TVA game I tried working on for a while. I also used the brightening/darkening scripts to add light and dark shade outfits.
