SURPRISE! Long after DidYouKnowGaming posted their "Donkey Kong Part 2" video, a dedicated fan would go out and deal with the trouble of getting this beta music out to all of you. Uploaded with permission and recognition from both Microsoft and Nintendo, and under the Fair Use law (which means I can't upload an MP3, as it's not my music). Theme composed by Robin Beanland.



Actually watch the video; you'll be in for another happy surprise, which hopefully doesn't get the video flagged. I did try asking all three deciding forces in the matter (YouTube, Microsoft, and Nintendo), and they said it's okay under Fair Use, but couldn't give me actual legal advice beyond that.

And this is a special treat and case, too, so if any of you ask me for the MP3, I'm going to say "no." I am guarding that file with MY LIFE, and if YouTube asks me to remove this video, or they remove it themselves, then I WILL comply.

    Posting this addendum after 4 and a half years... I'm well aware that some of you have been wanting to hear a higher quality audio file, but let me level with you all; I want to be able to upload it, but until Nintendo gives the official go-ahead (which I doubt they will), my hands are tied. That's why this is in a video format subject to YouTube's algorithms. Also, I'm still trying to figure out the video editing software I purchased a couple of years after I made this video, so that sucks too.

    Im convinced Funky's Fugue was a direct response to the Mortal Kombat Theme.

    If I was a bastard with modding my Switch, the only thing I would do, would be to replace the DKC version of Funky's Fugue (in SSBU) with this.

    Aha I see. Since it was a fighting game Robin went for something similar to Mortal Kombat's theme. Very cool but I'm glad they had a rock theme instead. Really set the game apart from the other fighters.

    the 'HI-YAH' popped into my head this morning and now i've gone down the coolest history trip about this song today! no wonder this song always seemed so different in DKC

    Really awesome! Didn't know this was actually released somewhere on the net. I remember hearing this in a Killer Instinct promo video. I wonder if this was meant to play on Orchid's stage/rooftop stage.
