The best way to do it is to not take it out of the pan right away. When itโs still warm poke deep holes using a wooden skewer and then pour the lemon syrup over the top. No need to brush it on. Then let it sit and absorb the syrup before turning it over. That is how I make my rum cake and it is amazing. Makes it so moist. Tastes even better the next day.

For cake: 3cups flour 2 TSP baking powder 1 cup butter 2 cups sugar 1 TSP salt 3 eggs 2 TBSP lemon zest 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 TSP vanillas extract 1 cup milk Bake for 50mins at 180ยฐC
