Building a New 1500Hp Bottom End For The Mr2! We Got a Plasma Table!

Loved the old-school YouTube vibe of the step-by-step engine build. It's so much more fun when you involve the viewers in every step! Keep up the good content (and don't leave us Plaidessey lovers hanging 😉)

After watching the whole vid now, I want to say that I prefer the raw content. It reminds of when you guys were back in Colorado doin yur thing which is what got me watching the channel.

I highly recommend getting the additive to put in the water tray not only does it help the water not stink as bad as quickly but most of the additives have an anti corrosion additive in it so your carbon steel sheet metal won’t rust after you cut something out as well as allowing you to leave a piece of metal on the tray overnight without it rusting up. Lastly I would seriously consider moving the plasma cutter to a protected shelf above the plasma table my buddy had a bad experience at his shop with keeping his plasma cutter below the coolant tray. Let’s just say plasma cutters don’t like drinking water. FYI Plastic Gauge has a shelf life. I was told that years ago in a training class I took when I worked at a Ford dealership. Additionally the class instructor to a piece of year old Plastic Gauge and a new piece and torqued it down and when we pulled the cap and measured it the old Plastic Gauge read much smaller than the new Plastic Gauge. Additionally when we measured the crank with a micrometer and installed and torqued the main cap and measured them with a bore gauge and did the math the clearance the plastic gauge and our math did not match. The Plastic gauge in one main measured small and in another measured large and in another it measured close enough to call the even. In short Plastic Gauge is better than nothing but a decent set of quality mic’s and snap gauges are relatively inexpensive and worth their weight in gold. Think about how much time and money you have spent on engine parts so why cheap out on quality measuring tools.

If releasing more content means every second video is basic and raw like this one, then I'm all for it. It's always nice to just watch someone wrench and drop info tidbits as they go. You don't always need to be working on some grand plan, just holla at your boys.

As a former waterjet table programmer/operator. Idk what tolerances your machine can run but I recommend putting a .020 to .040 tab on your part to hold your part to the sheet. Either on the lead in or lead out or somewhere you know you’re gonna grind so that way you don’t have to fish your final product out of that nasty water or risk having the head knock into a piece that’s sticking up and move your material. It’ll save the headache!!

always make sure to plasma cut with open engines nearby. the debris helps break in the engines faster

the step by step stuff helps out all the new ppl coming to the channel and ppl wanting to get into doing their own rebuilds for the first time. I say bring more of it, its a confidence boost when the person showing you is also pushing the limits of the engine for them to see working vs some random guy on reddit who claims to know what they talkin about. I personally would like to see how u set and ream (idk what size is spec) valve guides in a B series head properly
