To be honest, I would totally watch a speedrun of this mod.
  • @Skairen2
Rest in peace jerald... You were the best bunny a rekrap2 could have.

One of the programmers here, this was a very fun playthrough of the mod to watch! It's really nice seeing people enjoy the mod so much, especially people who are returning to it after so long now that it's out on modern Minecraft. Also honestly I was a bit devastated seeing your items get destroyed by lightning too, that's a bug I've had to fix a couple times in beta and I'm surprised to see it come back. Also RIP Jerald, I might have to see if I can prevent tragedies like that from happening again as well.

I love how going to The Aether isn’t “harder” than going to The Nether. This isn’t like some Advent of Ascension type stuff, it’s always just been go to The Nether, grab 10-14 glowstone, and then leave. Because The Aether is neither a replacement nor an upgrade to The Nether. It’s a place up in the sky where you can live peacefully so long as you can brave the elements first, where as The Nether was literally Hell and was literally called Hell until The Nether Update made it slightly habitable whilst also adding in tons of new ways to die horrifically. And again, with the tools, weapons and armour from The Aether, yes they’re “stronger” and “faster” than Overworld equiptment, but Aether equiptment only works in The Aether and vice versa. Yes, you can use Aether weapons to tear through Aether enemies faster, but that only works for Aether enemies.

Genuinely one of the best play through videos of our mod I've seen in many years. Wonderful job. RIP Jerald <3

I'll never forget the excitement when i was making a modpack for 1.20 and saw that the aether had finally been ported to new versions
  • @CDara.
Funfact ; Aether mod uses alpha sounds so we feel even more nostalgic

I love how clear Rek speaks, I am almost fully deaf but from what I can hear his voice sounds clear as well as confident and it comes up correct on the subtitles. I’ve been watching rek for years and it’s the little things that make my day. Thankyou Rek for making such good content.

Such a relic. The Aether has been a thing for so long and people have recognized it as one of the best mods to exist in MC history.
  • @DeadpanBead5451
The Aether is the most nostalgic thing ever I remember trying to build the Aether portal and got very disappointed when I found out it was fake but seeing it so long after that it’s so cool nice vide Rekrap2!
  • @skyrade4042
The main reason as to why this mod is STILL impressive despite its age, has to do with just how damn well it blends with the vanilla minecraft. If anything, it feels like minecraft aether update, something that minecraft SHOULD have
  • @breaking836
i like how modded gameplays + gameplays overall are making a comeback because of rek
  • @someplant5971
I'd love to see more like this, it's fun revisiting old mods and seeing how they stand today
  • @TheHiddenOne690
I've lost interest in Minecraft 2/3 years ago and this video randomly appeared on my homepage, so I decided to watch it. Not only did I enjoy the video, but I was hooked from start to finish. Kudos to your narration, editing and story telling! You are amazing!
  • @doggib
Thank you rekrap for bringing back our childhood memories!
  • @miloyall
Wow, this mod still holds up so well. Thanks for reminding me of this, I’m definitely going to be playing this again later.
  • @drthvrdr
As a tip rekrap: You can rebind the gravitite jump to a combo of keys so that every jump isn't super high! I personally bind mine to shift + space but you can bind it to whatever you want I've been loving the resurgence in Aether content that's been happening since the remaster has been released! I've been donating to their patreon since before that and saw the huge progress being made on it, and it's super awesome to finally see everybody else enjoying it! Loved this video!
