Here, we have taken a kit-set cabin and turned it into a dream get-away. A place where we can relax, unwind and be with nature. The exterior of this cabin is all about connection with nature, form the sun-soaked front deck with BBQ, table and chairs, through to the tree-house style rear deck with captivating views looking out over the forest canopy, this place is truly something else.
Stepping inside, the cabin is quintessentially cozy with all the wonderful warmth coming from the beautiful Nordic spruce timber logs. Of course, there's a cozy leather couch in front of the fire, and the interior decor of this cabin is designed to make you relax into the space, with a hint of modern design thrown in there too for ease of living.

As an older parent, I wouldnāt be able to stay here without a bathroom. I hope you can build it soon for your parents. It touched my heart that you love to spend time with your parents. Most young people donāt seem to have time for their parents. God bless you for being a good son.

Gorgeous cabin! Please be sure and do an update when you complete the outdoor bathroom with a view. I canāt wait to see that. That back deck and warm and cozy bedroom are the so inviting. Family is everything. Great job Bryce!

As someone who has studied erosion, soil science, and terrestrial systems, I was not worried about where you built. Those roots are stabilizing the cliffs and they have been there for 100s of years. Then you mentioned rock layers. The only thing that will take out that cabin is some other natural disaster besides a landslide. I hope that NZ does not yet suffer the devastating forest fires they get in Australia or tornados as in the Midwest US, or hurricanes or cyclones, hereās hoping you are well away from the shores here. However, earth quakes are an issue, but I believe you are not building on a fault line. So here to a lovely cabin lasting a century or two if it is well maintained.

Bryce, the smile on your face reaches your eyes, and it's actually made me cry! I'm a big family person too, however, my dad passed a few years ago and mum's time ended in December last year. I think you're a wonderful son, this place, the adventures that will follow.....they will be the memories you enjoy when you're rocking a good rocking chair. I really really hope you incorporate a loo and shower at some stage, please show us if you do. To your mum and dad....I wish them a joyous retirement and many beautiful times in the incredible cabin. ā¤

Congratulations to you and Rasa on the build. It looks fantastic and the bush is beautiful. My jaw dropped at the final cost. No plumbing, functional kitchen or bathroom, crikey it's no wonder we have a housing crisis here in NZ.

it amazes me how so many people watched this with the volume turned off. š³ you did an amazing job on this sweet cabin. i love the contrast of the black with the wood. the back deck has me swooning. Absolutely Gorgeous! and the love you have for your parents tops everything. š i'm excited to see the bathroom build and i'm positive your parent's bathroom needs are well taken care of in the meantime.
